TextPad is a powerful, general purpose editor for plain text files. Easy to use, with all the features a power user requires. TextPad® is designed to provide the power and functionality to satisfy the most demanding text editing requirements.
TextPad has been implemented according to the Windows XP user interface guidelines, so great attention has been paid to making it easy for both beginners and experienced users. In-context help is available for all commands, and in-context menus pop-up with the right mouse button. The Windows multiple document interface allows multiple files to be edited simultaneously, with up to 2 views on each file. Text can be dragged and dropped between files.
In addition to the usual cut and paste capabilities, you can correct the most common typing errors with commands to change case, and transpose words, characters and lines. Other commands let you indent blocks of text, split or join lines, and insert whole files. Any change can be undone or redone, right back to the first one made. Visible bookmarks can be put on lines, and edit commands can be applied to lines with bookmarks.
Frequently used combinations of commands can be saved as keystroke macros, and the spelling checker has dictionaries for 10 languages.
It also has a customizable tools menu, and integral file compare and search commands, with hypertext jumps from the matched text to the corresponding line in the source file (ideal for integrating compilers).

• In addition to the usual cut, copy and paste capabilities, selected text can be case shifted and block indented, and characters, words and lines can be transposed. Cut and copied text can be appended to the clipboard, as well as replacing its contents.
• Text can be automatically word-wrapped at the margin, or at a specified column, if it does not fit on a line. In this mode, text can be split into separate lines where wrapping occurs, or lines can be intelligently joined, preserving paragraphs.
• OLE2 drag and drop editing for copying and moving text between documents.
• Unlimited undo/redo capability. The undo buffer can be optionally cleared when a file is saved, or by using the Mark Clean command.
• Block (column) selection mode, and visible display of tabs and spaces.
• A keystroke macro recorder, with up to 16 active macros.
• Sorting, using up to 3 keys.
• Text can be automatically aligned and indented, relative to the previous line, to aid block indentation.
• The right mouse button pops up an in-context menu.
• The cursor can be constrained to the text, or can be positioned freely in the document view.
• Toolbar with fly-by usage hints, and an active status bar.
• A powerful search/replace engine using UNIX-style regular expressions, with the power of editor macros. Sets of files in a directory tree can be searched, and text can be replaced in all open documents at once.
• Visible bookmarks can be placed on individual lines, and on all occurrences of a search pattern. Bookmarked lines can be cut, copied or deleted.
• A built in file manager for fast file copying, renaming, deleting etc.
• Print previewing, and printing with customizable headers/footers and page breaks.
• Viewer for binary files using a hexadecimal display format.
• Built in file comparison utility, and up to 16 user-defined tools with argument macros.
• Hypertext links from file search and user tool output to the relevant source line.
• DDE interface to other tools, such as MS Visual C++. The editor detects when an open file has been modified by another tool, and prompts you to reopen it.

* Incremental Find command on the Search menu. It finds the next instance of a string, as you type it in the Incremental Find toolbar.
* Normalize command on Windows menu when document tabs are displayed. It eliminates any tiling and tab groups.

UpdatePack7R2 - the set allows you to update the operating system, and also to integrate updates into the distribution. Can be installed on any revision of Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2, any bit depth and any language. Includes updates for all versions of Internet Explorer, all critical, recommended and security updates.
Using
The system must have at least 10 GB of free space on the hard drive and preferably not less than 1 GB of free RAM.
For flexible installation of the set, you can use the following keys and their combinations
· Key / Reboot to automatically reboot, if required.
· / S key for completely silent installation without windows and messages. The register matters.
· Key / Silent for passive installation - you can see the progress, but the installation is completely automatic.
· Key / IE11 to install Internet Explorer 11 and localize it.
· The / Temp = key allows you to specify a temporary working directory. It does not have to be empty, but it must exist.
· The / NoSpace key allows you to skip checking for free space on the system partition, it is not recommended to use it.
Examples
· You must automatically install all the updates, IE11 and restart the computer: UpdatePack7R2.exe / ie11 / silent / reboot
· You need to hide all updates to existing products, do not change the version of IE, you do not have to restart the computer: UpdatePack7R2.exe / S
The following keys are intended to integrate updates into the distribution
· The / WimFile = key specifies the location of the wim file, you must specify an absolute path.
· / Index = specifies the index of the system in the wim-file, for each index it is necessary to perform the integration again.
· The / Index = * key allows one-by-one integration of updates into all indexes of the wim-file.
Notes
· Before you specify an index, it's useful to run the command: Dism / Get-WimInfo /WimFile:C:\install.wim (replace the path with your own).
· Not all updates can be integrated (see table), but they will not affect the security of the system.

Additional functionality
1. It is possible to automatically install SP1 if it is not installed on the system. To do this, you need to place the Windows6.1-KB976932-X86.exe and Windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe files in the same directory as the set.
2. If there is UpdatePack7R2Start.cmd next to the set, it will be performed before installing updates, UpdatePack7R2Finish.cmd - after installation, UpdatePack7R2Wim.cmd - after integration of updates. By default, the console windows will be displayed. To hide them, the first line in the cmd file should start with ": hide" (without the quotes). The set of updates tracks the exit code from the cmd-files, in case of need to reboot. This code is 3010 (exit 3010).
3. If you want to apply your tweaks after installing Internet Explorer 11 on the production system, place the ie11.reg file in the folder with the set and it will be imported automatically.
4. Some keys can be replaced by renaming the file of the set itself. So to install IE11, you can add the word "ie11" to any place in the file name of the set, "-" for automatic reboot and "++" for passive installation.
Examples
It is necessary to automatically install the set on the working system together with IE11 and restart the computer: Rename UpdatePack7R2.exe to UpdatePack7R2 - ie11 ++. Exe
This will be the same as using the following keys: UpdatePack7R2.exe / ie11 / silent / reboot

As we know, a significant portion of the UX changes will be borrowed from the Windows 10X shell, and Windows 10X is not coming to market. Now, as expected, the Windows 11 information leak begins.
What's new in Windows 11
- Windows 11 will receive a completely new design. Microsoft clearly needs a good reason to reverse its past claims and still ditch Windows 10 by introducing a new operating system number. And a completely new design is great for that. The Redmond giant has long been preparing a redesign for an update with the code name Sun Valley ("Sun Valley") - apparently, under this naming it was Windows 11. The Sun Valley project flashed on the network for a long time - Microsoft regularly disclosed details of the new interface style, insiders shared the unknown previously information, and popular designers in their circles drew realistic concepts based on all this data.
- Start and system elements will float above the bottom bar. Start is the calling card and face of every recent version of Windows. Not surprisingly, in Windows 11, developers will transform it again, but not so much in functional as in visual terms - the Start window will hover above the bottom bar. We have to admit that this small change makes the appearance of the system much fresher. Judging by information from the network, Microsoft will not radically change the "insides" of this menu - the innovations will affect only the design of the window itself. The control panel will also float, and its design will be exactly the same as that of the "Start". The action center will be combined with the control buttons together - a similar one has long been used in some other operating systems. Almost all mentions of this new menu indicate that it will be island - the control buttons will be located on one separate panel, notifications will be on another, and specific elements (like a player) on another separate one.
- Right angles will disappear, they will be replaced
by fillets. In truth, insiders and concept designers disagree on this point - some are confident that Microsoft will not change its traditions and will keep right angles, while others are convinced that in 2021 Microsoft will follow the fashion for fillets. The latter fits better with the definition of "completely new Windows" - just hovering menus are not enough for a new design to be considered truly new. Fillets are expected to affect virtually everything in the system, from context menus and system panels to all application windows. True, even on this issue, the opinions of concept designers differ - some draw fillets in all possible interface elements, others combine them with right angles.
- There will be a translucent background with blur everywhere. There is disagreement on the web about the island style of displaying windows, the design of the corners and the levitation effect of the menu, but almost everyone is unanimous about the transparency of the windows. The vast majority of leaks and design renders show transparency and blur in all windows, be it at least the Start menu or Explorer. Moreover, these effects are even in the assembly of the canceled Windows 10X operating system, which Microsoft was developing for devices with two screens and weak gadgets in parallel with the Sun Valley project. The so-called acrylic transparency implies the use of new effects when hovering over elements, as well as increased spacing between elements - those areas of the interface with which the user interacts will certainly become larger, and page titles will be thickened.
- New font that has already been shown. Windows 11 will most likely use the default responsive Segoe UI Variable font, which has already appeared in Windows 10 Build 21376 for Insiders. Its advantage is that it is equally well suited for small texts and large inscriptions. This distinguishes it from standard fonts, which are initially created for either small size or large size. For example, the stable version of Windows 10 currently uses the Segoe UI font, designed for 9pt. In smaller inscriptions, it becomes poorly legible, and in large inscriptions it looks expressionless.
- Windows 11 will have new icons, and Windows 95 icons will disappear. Yes, they are still in use today. Microsoft will finally transform the icons that are used throughout the system. It's not just about shortcuts to folders, trash cans and other icons found in Explorer. We are talking about all the icons available in the Shell32 directory. There are still icons from the days of Windows 95, and only recently Microsoft updated their design in one of the insider assemblies - of course, they will migrate to Windows 11.
- Windows 11 will have functional innovations - there are many of them, but they are all small. Much less is known about the features of the upcoming update than about its design. But since Windows 11 and Windows 10X (the canceled OS for weak and foldable devices, the image of which has leaked to the network) were developed in parallel, we can safely assume that all the functions from the latter will appear in Windows 11. For example, Windows 11 will show when the camera is in use computer - the corresponding indicator will be displayed in the system tray.
