About Vue and PlantFactory e-on software has revamped its product line-up, making its digital nature tools, Vue and PlantFactory, available as rental-only product bundles rather than individual purchases.

New features in the software include support for PBR shading, Allegorithmic's Substance material format, and the UDIM UV layout system; plus some interesting changes to the way Vue generates and exports clouds.

The firm has also rolled out a new corporate logo and a new sales website. The changes are the biggest to e-on software's product line-up and online presence since a cyber-attack took its old website offline last year.


E-on software is the leading developer of solutions for the creation, animation, rendering and integration of natural 3D environments (VUE, PlantFactory, CloudFactory Ozone and Carbon Scatter). This release added support for V-Ray 5 and for 3ds Max 2021, tex uvw.and more to give you extra control and creativity while making under-the-hood tweaks so your fluid dynamics experience is faster and smoother.

With Phoenix FD 4.20 added support for V-Ray 5 and for 3ds Max 2021, improved TexUVW for smoke simulations and implemented filling an emitter's volume with TexUVW and RGB.

3D Systems (DDD) has announced the release of version 15 of its Cimatron software for mold-, die- and tool-makers. This new version introduces new and enhanced capabilities that can dramatically accelerate productivity whilst minimizing cost in the design and manufacturing of molds, dies and discrete parts.

Introducing Cimatron 15

Cimatron 15 introduces hundreds of new and enhanced capabilities, aimed to enable toolmakers deliver high quality tools faster and easier, while reducing costs. New, enhanced and automated NC programming capabilities enable manufacturers to shorten programming and machining time. A new Mill/Turn application was added to the Cimatron NC environment enabling customers to program Mill/Turn and Turning machines within the same familiar environment. New and enhanced tool design capabilities enable mold makers to design faster, improve manufacturing quality and get optimal design of Molds, using automated cooling design capabilities and new analysis tools.

New Mill/Turn Application

New Mill/Turn capabilities were added to Cimatron for faster machining and better surface quality for tool makers that want to use the familiar and safe environment of Cimatron to program their Mill/Turn and Turning machines. Turning with Cimatron supports full functionality for roughing, high-performance roughing (using VoluTurn), contouring, threading, center drilling, tapping and boring.

The application is fully integrated within the Cimatron CAM environment allowing easy programming, machine simulation and post processing of the entire NC process - Milling, Drilling and Turning.

New and Enhanced 5-Axis Milling Capabilities

- Automated 5-Axis Roughing - Optimized Roughing for multidirections can now be programmed and calculated entirely and automatically by the system for maximum material removal in minimal machining time from optimal selected directions. Users can now let the system calculate complex part roughing for them.

It includes support for guide curves, undercut and consider holder to prevent collisions. Users can use it for 3-axis ,4-axis and 5-axis toolpath typically used for parts that require high quality surface finish such as mold and die cores and/or cases where a continues toolpath start-to-end without re-entries is required.

- New 5-Axis Automatic Deburring - Automatically program deburring operations by selecting geometry, surfaces or an entire model. NX 1926 Series Release Notes - Date:June 2020

We are proud to introduce the latest release of NX, which brings significant new and enhanced functionality in all areas of the product to help you work more productively to build your 3D digital twin. This release builds on the continuous release process that is designed to make it easier for you to stay current with the latest releases of NX, giving you faster access to the latest functionality, and performance and quality improvements, to ensure that you gain the most from your investments.

Design
To optimize product development, we have invested in all aspects of modeling, including core functionality in modeling and drafting, and added some exciting new modules for you, including NX Structure Designer and NX Join for welded structures and defining bolted connections. You will also find numerous enhancements to modeling that will boost your productivity.

Most importantly, this is the first release of our new sketch capabilities. The new sketch tool removes the need for you to spend time and effort defining constraints and rules to control your sketch, automatically predicting relationships between geometry so you can make changes to your sketches faster and with more confidence. To allow you time to bring the new approaches to your workflows seamlessly, we have included a number of video tutorials that you can access directly from NX. We have also put the new sketch tool under a feature toggle, so you can control when to upgrade from the legacy sketch tool and introduce it to your users.

Manufacturing
This latest release of NX CAM provides several important enhancements that help you accelerate CNC programming and achieve higher machining efficiency, including the following highlights:

- Automated tool selection helps you confidently machine parts with deep features, ensuring collision-free operations. It enables fast programming and efficient machining of complex part geometries using shorter tools, minimizing tool deflections and improving surface quality.
- Optimized, smooth transitions between cutting passes enable use of higher feedrates to machine remaining material in corners. This enhancement helps you reduce machining time.

NX Additive Manufacturing provides new functionality for fixed- and multi-axis printing. The improved copy capability enables quick positioning of multiple parts with their support structures in the build tray, and a new operation for multi-axis track buildup streamlines printing of parts that have walls with consistent thickness.

In addition the Continuous Release will also reduce deployment costs for incremental updates.

Minimum Operating Systems
- Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit) Pro and Enterprise editions

Windows 10
Windows 10 is the minimum supported release for NX 1926. The supported versions of Windows 10 are the Pro and Enterprise editions utilizing Semi-Annual Channel (SAC) updates.
Windows 7 and 8.1
Windows 7 has reached the end of life and mainstream support has ended. Windows 8.1 is still supported by Microsoft, but was rarely deployed. These two versions of Windows are no longer supported by NX 1926. Siemens Digital Industries Software has not performed testing on these version and cannot resolve any issues related to NX 1926 running on these operating systems. If NX 1926 is deployed on these versions of Windows, any issues will have to be replicated on Windows 10 before filing an incident report with GTAC.
Windows XP and Vista
Windows XP support from Microsoft has ended and Vista was rarely deployed so these two versions of Windows are not supported by NX 1926. Siemens PLM Software has not performed testing on these versions and cannot resolve any issues related to NX 1926 running on these operating systems. If NX 1926 is deployed on these versions of Windows, any issues will have to be replicated on Windows 10 before filing an incident report with GTAC
