Why did we develop PrintFab? Of course you can often achieve good results with manufacturer-supplied printer drivers. However, if you print the same photo on different printers, you will discover that these prints are not identical but show quite different colors!


One reason for this is that each driver tries to "beautify" printouts by increasing contrast and color saturation etc. Advanced users might not be satisfied with with color balance, color gradients and the reproduction of fine nuances.

How Secure Is Your Network?
A single weak password exposes your entire network to an external threat. Password hacking is one of the most critical and commonly exploited network security threats. Network users employ short and simple passwords that are easy to remember, but are also easy to break. They often use repeating characters, simple words and names for easier memorizing. Making them use computer-generated passwords that consist of random characters will only make the problem more severe, as the users will write the passwords down on the proverbial yellow stickers. Network administrators are also part of the problem, as they may forget purging terminated employees, forcing people to change passwords often, or locking out the users after a certain number of failed login attempts.

Network Security Policies
Weak passwords are easy to break, while complex passwords are difficult to memorize. Having an elaborate security policy is the only way to ensure the security of your network. Does your policy require a regular password change? Make sure to audit the network after every change. Did it take Proactive Password Auditor 30 days to break a password when you performed the last audit? Then examine your network at least once a month to ensure ongoing security.

Postbox is a powerful application that aims to provide you with all the tools for keeping in touch with your friends and business partners. It can handle multiple email accounts and allows you to subscribe to RSS feeds in order to read the latest news.

Well-organized and pretty familiar interface
The program is based on the popular Mozilla Thunderbird email client and its interface features the popular accounts, folders and messages panels for easy access. The message pane allows you to view the content of the current email which can also be opened in a new tab.

Setup your account and group or label messages
Configuring the email accounts enables the user to only enter the email address and the password. The wizard automatically searches for the server configurations in the database and fills in the rest of the details if they are available which allows Gmail or Yahoo! users to add a new account in a matter of seconds.

The Gmail integration allows you to organize your messages with labels and to navigate through the messages by using native Gmail shortcuts. You can also use the conversation view in order to group the messages when you need to follow a certain discussion.

Browse attachments, subscribe to RSS feeds and filter news
With the email indexing feature the program helps you browse the email attachments and images related with the messages from a folder. You just need to switch to the attachments view, select the files and save them to your computer.

You can also use the application to subscribe to RSS feeds or to import your subscriptions from other programs such as Thunderbird. As the email messages, the news articles can be filtered by using advanced rules in order to display the items that you need to read.

A final assessment
In our tests, the program had little impact on the computer's performance even though it uses a significant part of the system memory.

Overall, Postbox is a useful email management tool which integrates multiple Gmail features and can be further improved by adding extensions. However, if you are not an exclusive Gmail user you are sure to find other solutions.

CAD Viewer is an application developed for users who want to view CAD drawings without using complicated software, such as AutoCAD.
The interface looks familiar, so users shouldn't experience any navigation issues. Opening a drawing can be done using the file browser only, since the drag-and-drop feature is not supported.

Standard tools include print, zoom, pan across drawing area, rotate, and select (predefined 3D view).
As far as preferences are concerned, you can specify the initial viewing mode for DXF and DWG files (e.g. zoom drawing to fit, last saved) and raster (e.g. initial rotation for BMP and JPG).
In addition, you can establish the printer initial page orientation, raster images in drawings options (e.g. ignore always), and Xrefs in drawings (e.g. browse if not found), as well as enable confirmation on quit and hide menus from the main application window.
Administrators also have the possibility to manage user permissions when it comes to printing, saving and copying to the Clpboard, and markups (whether they can be embedded into DXF and DWG drawings or not).

Other options of CAD Viewer focus on a search function, export to PDF format and email, drawing recovery for viewing, text touch-up options (e.g. edit, move, copy, delete), image mode (e.g. fast draw, smooth), layer manager, black and white filter, and more.

CAD Viewer is very responsive to commands and runs on a pretty low amount of CPU and RAM, so it doesn't put a strain on overall performance or interfere with the runtime of other applications. We have not come across any issues in our tests, since the app did not hang or crash. In conclusion, CAD Viewer offers a simple alternative to viewing CAD files.
