The Metallurgy™ Collection of amplifier and effects plugins was created specifically for guitarists who wish to quickly and easily access contemporary versions of classic and modern metal tones-as well as craft original tones of their own. The collection bundles the Modern, Thrash, and Doom plugins, which are also available individually.

The three Metallurgy Collection plugins feature amplifier and effects models drawn from the award-winning HX® family of products-ensuring outstanding sound quality and dynamic responsiveness. Each of the plugins features four amplifier types that may be paired with any of eight speaker cabinets. Two microphones may be selected from a virtual "mic locker" containing eight microphone types, and these may be combined with a stereo room mic array. Up to two third-party impulse responses (IRs) may be substituted for the factory mics. All of the microphones may be positioned in various ways and a 4-band parametric EQ allows you to sculpt the cabinet tone even further. Four pre-amplifier and three post-amplifier effects are also provided-including polyphonic pitch-shifting-as are a noise gate and a chromatic tuner.

MKVToolnix is an advanced application that enables you to open, examine, edit and mux Matroska files (.mkv). It offers support for other popular video file types too, along with audio tracks and subtitles. The full package includes separate command-line utilities for merging and extracting streams, viewing information, as well as for editing headers and chapters They are all wrapped up in a graphical interface in the Windows edition.

The tool enables you to view, append and take apart tracks, chapters and tags, as well as to edit a wide range of data. For example, when it comes to general track options, you can set the track name, language, default and forced track flags, tags, and timecodes.
What's more, you can set the aspect ratio, FPS, delay, stereoscopy mode, cropping, cues, compression mode, and custom command-line parameters for enhanced functionality. External files can be embedded in the movie as attachments.

Create and edit movie chapters
It's also possible to create chapters and define properties, such as start and end time, flags, segment and segment edition UID, together with chapter name, language and country. Configurable global settings focus on the tag file, whether to create a WebM compliant file or not, split mode, file linking, and so on.
An important aspect worth taking into account is that MKVToolnix offers support for batch jobs, which means that you can leave the workstation unattended while the tool executes time-consuming tasks.
You can examine the current command line and copy it to the Clipboard or save it to file to use in future projects, manage the queue jobs, add command-line options, load chapters from external files, edit the header, as well as save the project as an .mka, .mkv or .mk3d-formatted file.

Evaluation and conclusion
The tool didn't put a strain on computer performance in our tests, using low CPU and RAM. It carried out tasks in a decent amount of time and didn't trigger the operating system to hang, crash or prompt error messages.
Taking into account its wide range of configuration parameters, MKVToolnix should meet the requirements of most expert users looking to study, create, edit and generate MKV files.

Whats new
Added 'Unlock Defender' (W1x), this unlocks certain settings that are usually locked by the OS. Note the Windows Security icon may not show on the taskbar
until you open the app for the first time. When you run a scan you may get the threat about 'DefenderTamperingRestore' or similar wording this is because
the 'DisableAtFirstSeen' registry item is set to disable so that it not grab any 'threat' it sees before you got a chance to exclude it. You can either allow
Defender to reset that parameter or allow it to keep that setting disabled, the choice is yours. Also certain possible spying/leaked telemetry is disabled such
as the submit samples and cloud based parts. These are greyed out because they are policy edits and do not affect the use or updating of the Defender app etc.
This option will auto-disable the MRP's 'Disable Defender' option as it is pointless to have both so this 'Unlock' option will take preference over the other. The
option to unlock defender is only operative for W1x and is ignored/not needed for older OS's.
Note that on Vista kernels when using the 'Disable Defender' option you may get errors after logging in. But to overcome that don't use the MRP option as when you
disable Defender in that OS likewise in Win7/8.x it will stay disabled and not re-enable, unless m$ have changed that policy.
If you wish to get rid of the Edge's taskbar icon then select the 'Use MRP's slimmer Start menu and TaskBar' as this will clear out the taskbar to the bare minimum. Reboot is required.
Re-worded a few log entries to reference the use of Windows 11 correctly as some entries may still of said Windows 10, even though the kernel is basically the same
for now at least.
Due to some changes in the Win1x theme, (in the OS's itself), the color of the Start, Action Centre and Taskbar will probably be the title bar's accent color so for example if set
to Blue then the Start, Action Centre and Taskbar colors will change to Blue as well.
Added 'Disable TitleBar Accent Color' being used on Start, Taskbar and Action Center. In responce to the above OS theme changes. Select it to prevent the accent color being used.
Added 'Disable Special Keys' this includes Sticky, Narrator etc the ones that when caught by accident was a pain to turn off! This should eliminate that issue.
Added 'DisableF1Help' this disables the pressing of F1 for help which for some is a nuisance when you catch the key by mistake! This appears to mainly work for
Explorer windows and the [?] icon is now inoperative there too. For Notepad and other Apps etc the F1 still opens the online help as normal.
Added 'DisableMeltSpectr' this disables the Meltdown/Spectre patches and can help speed up a older CPU, but at the sacrifice of 'security'. Not that many attacks have been made!
Added 'DisableWindowsUpdate' this however may get overridden by a manual Update or M$ and not always work as expected. You can still use the pause feature/quality update
option to prevent updates that way. Or simply use other stop updates tools of your choice.
Added for w1x: 'Prevent Drive Auto Encryption' this will only work properly on a real PC if Secure boot is turned off before OS installation, if a VM or TPM is detected
then this option will auto disable to prevent setup or later issues. Better to use a unattend.xml with thetrueset in it.
See in the Optional>w1x folder for unattend.xml files that can be used for windows 10/11 to turn that and other things off.
Fixed an issue where explorer or file-explorer in windows 11 (Insider/Canary Build mainly) would not work or crash.
Updated the 'Remove all safe apps' routine to be more time efficient and with help from 'Dark Dinosaur' for the tweaked P/Shell script it uses to exclude specific apps.
Some updates to the log entries, the early log has more information added.
Note: Using VMWare v17 and a VM setup as 'Windows 11' and using the TPM + the Password hoops it makes you enter for that, can cause issues with MRP, on real w11 capable
hardware there is no issues only on VMware v17 Virtual Machines. Sometimes there can be a 'hung' OS installation or longer delays between sections of the OS Setup.

What Cans2Cones does
Cans2Cones reduces the "superstereo" effect of headphones by generating cross-mixed Interaural Time and Amplitude Differences (ITD and IAD) for left and right ears. This crossfeed is not the same thing as simple panning or stereo width reduction. It actually produces a sense of distance to the emulated "speakers" with subtle EQ changes and comb filtering that occurs with real loudspeakers in a real room.
What Cans2Cones does NOT do
Cans2Cones is not a "headphone equalizer". It does not attempt to correct any spectral imbalances in your headphone's frequency response nor does it apply any "room correction" or room ambience. It assumes a flat frequency response in a heavily treated room with monitors placed on a customary equilateral triangle to the listening position.
A unique feature of Cans2Cones is the "Dynamic De-Compression" control that reduces the "in your head" compressed sound that occurs due to the close proximity of headphone drivers to the eardrums. This decompressor "dries out" the sound to a small degree which helps to emulate what one would hear with real speakers in a real room. Dynamic De-Compression helps the listener to better assess the amount of reverb and compression in a mix which is often exaggerated when listening on headphones.
Cans2Cones includes 3 "Quick Select" presets: "Near-field", "Mid-field", and "Far-field" that generate the distance and characteristic frequency response of speakers used in those positions. Also included is a "Subwoofer" control that extends the frequency response low-end for full range response on any of the "speakers". You can also adjust the speaker distance manually by simply dragging them. When selecting different presets the audio perspective and slight tonal variations occur - just like moving monitors around in a real room!

Limited-S uses a different approach than typical De-Essers, Dynamic EQs, etc., in that it does not use a tradition compressor-type Attack/Decay level detector. Instead, Limited-S uses a very fast, Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filter that exactly calculates the envelope of the signal at all times. There is no need to fuss with attack and decay settings to get acceptable results. When Threshold and Ratio are set properly, de-essing action will be completely transparent in most cases. All you will hear is less sibilance.
