Use text files and jpeg images to create illustrated books with chapters, descendant reports, ancestor reports, and name index. It is very simple to use, and creates high quality documents that can be printed, emailed, published on the internet, or sent to a service bureau for conversion into a bound book.

Easily transform a downloaded GEDCOM into a PDF. Just drag the GEDCOM onto the Ancestral Author desktop icon, and in a few seconds you'll have a fully hyperlinked and indexed PDF document. This makes it easy to view GEDCOMs downloaded from FamilySearch, Ancestry.com, Rootsweb, Genealogy.com, etc.

Or use the Ancestral Author wizard to create more elaborate PDF documents with title pages, chapters, sections, indexes, source references, table of contents, etc. See a small sample PDF document created by Ancestral Author here.

You can add pictures to your titles pages, such as a family crest, an old picture of the homestead, or a picture of your great-grandparents. Click here for more info.

Each descendant report can be placed in the PDF document with its own chapter, and its own title: "Ancestry of My Mom", "Ancestry of My Dad".

Names are hyperlinked to pages. This makes it easy to navigate the genealogical relationships. Click on a hyperlinked name, and you are brought immediately to the page on which that person appears.

The index is fully hyperlinked too. Once you find someone in the index, just click on the page number, and you are brought immediately to that page.

In the tag browser you can sort e-books according to their author, language, series, format, publisher, rating, as well as news, tags and identifies.
So, you can download or edit metadata individually or in bulk, get covers, merge e-book records, convert e-books individually or in bulk (in the XML, CSV, EPUB, MOBI and other formats), as well as send e-books to devices.

You can also use the "Fetch news" feature to download news from websites and convert them into a preferred e-book format. It is possible to schedule news downloads, add a custom sources or download all scheduled news sources as well.
Calibre allows you to create libraries and toggle between them, as well as rename, delete, backup and restore libraries, connect to iTunes, start a content server, search and sort e-books, and more.

No installation needed
Since this app is portable, you don't need to install it on your computer, as simply launching the executable grants you full access to its functions.

You can also run it from removable storage media such as USB flash drives or external HDDs. More so, it won't tamper with your registry entries nor create additional files or folders on your PC other than the reports it generates.

Scans and fixes your DNS cache
Clean_DNS, as its name suggests, can help you scan your DNS cache from faulty entries and also clear them for you at the press of a button. At the end of the process it also generates reports for you, depending on which course of action you prefer.

In order to access its functions, you simply need to press the "Control" button if you want to perform a scan or the "Repair" button if you want to fix faulty entries.

Prey lets you keep track and find your laptop, phone and tablet whenever stolen or missing - easily and all in one place. It's lightweight, open source software that gives you full and remote control, 24/7. You can quickly find out what the thief looks like, what he's doing on your device and actually where he's hiding by using GPS or WiFi geopositioning. It's payback time.

How it works:prey
Basically you install a tiny agent in your PC or phone, which silently waits for a remote signal to wake up and work its magic. This signal is sent either from the Internet or through an SMS message, and allows you to gather information regarding the device's location, hardware and network status, and optionally trigger specific actions on it.

You can quickly find out where your computer is located, who's using it, and what he's doing on it thanks to Prey's powerful reports system.

By marking your device as missing, Prey will gather all the evidence you request and send it either to your Control Panel account or directly to your mailbox, depending on the reporting method you choose.

Besides gathering information, you can also trigger actions remotely such as sounding a loud alarm or showing a message which will appear onscreen - just in case you want the guy to know he's being chased at.
