C is a general-purpose, procedural computer programming language supporting structured programming, lexical variable scope, and recursion, with a static type system. By design, C provides constructs that map efficiently to typical machine instructions.

Why to use C language

Socket programming is a way of connecting two nodes on a network to communicate with each other. One socket(node) listens on a particular port at an IP, while other socket reaches out to the other to form a connection.

Server forms the listener socket while client reaches out to the server.

Quantum tunneling derived from the Schrodinger equation

Description
With the discovery of Quantum Mechanics, strange new phenomena came about as a consequence of this new theory. One of these weird phenomena is Quantum tunneling, a new concept which admits of the possibility that a particle can penetrate a potential barrier even if -classically- it would not have the right amout of energy to overcome that potential.

This short (but dense) course is about showing how to derive this quantum tunneling effect from the Schrodinger equation. In order to do that, the so-called transmission coefficient must be calculated. This coefficient will be defined and derived in the course, and a comparison between quantum and classical mechanics will be made, highlighting the impossibility that this effect can occur in the classical world.

The prerequisites required to follow the course are:

1) basics of ordinary linear differential equations with constant coefficients (1st and 2nd order). However, the calculations are done step-by-step when needed.

2) The student should be familiar with complex exponentials and hyperbolic functions, because they appear in the formulae that are derived in the course.

3) the concepts of: total energy, kinetic energy, potential energy are a starting point in the course. Therefore, it is assumed that the student has acquired at least a comfortable degree of familiarity with these classical physics concepts.

Machine Learning is becoming ubiquitous across all industries. Already many applications have been identified which use Machine Learning now. It is not just about applying superior technology for traditional problems when we apply Machine Learning. It is also about business sense since applying Machine Learning, we can make experiments and applications much more economical.

This course is a result of a discussion among my Project Team from our cohort in IIT, Kanpur learning Cyber Security. We have embarked to create a product for Malware Detection using Machine Learning. While all of us are getting grips on Malware Analysis, the team needed some inputs of Machine Learning. To fill the gap, I conducted some sessions with our Project Team members on Machine Learning. This course is a collection of the recording of these sessions.

This course discusses what are Machine Learning Algorithms. We discuss Random Forest Algorithm and Linear Regression as examples to understand what are models in Machine Learning. We see how to implement such models using Python. During the discussion on the development of the Machine Learning models, we discuss the various steps like Data Preprocessing, Normalisation, Scaling, etc. We touch upon the basics of Neural Network and take a slight deep dive into Regression. The course includes discussion on concepts like what is overfitting, what is hyper-parameter tuning, etc.

This course tries to give an idea for what it takes to create a product which uses Machine Learning. I believe that the discussions can get one started to apply Machine Learning to many problems.

3ds Max Look Development Fundamentals: Material, Texture, UV Unwrapping

In this online course, you're going to learn the essential skills of "Look development" inside 3ds Max. You will learn about materials, texturing, and UV unwrapping. The curriculum is carefully crafted so you can master the skills quickly but seamlessly. Please note that this course is not designed for complete beginners. You do need some basic knowledge about 3ds Max, such as navigation, object creation, selection, and basic 3d modeling.

What you will learn

There are a total of 4 chapters in this course. In the first chapter, you will learn the basics of rendering in 3ds Max. Then learn the basics of using materials and how to manage them using the material editor. You will learn how to create a material library. Learn how to utilize the material ID and the multi sub-object material. Next, you will learn how to use the ActiveShade feature to quickly preview materials. We will also discuss several important CG concepts such as color models, bit depth, and high range images. Then you will learn different methods of adding environment lighting into the scene. From using simple colors. Then using HDRI files. And then learn to use the daylight system. After that, the curriculum focuses on material parameters. You will learn the basic settings such as the base color, metalness, and roughness. And then move on to the more advanced parameters such as the transparency, clearcoat, sub-surface scattering, emission, and so on. At the end of the first chapter, you will do a project where you add materials to a chair product and then render it.

In the second chapter, we will focus on the texturing techniques. You will learn procedural textures. Then learn how to control various aspects of the material using non-color textures. Then learn different bump effect techniques from using simple height maps, normal bump maps, and displacement effects. After that, learn to use image texture and different methods of projection UV mapping. Learn the concept of UV coordinate and the real-world size feature in 3ds Max. Next, you will learn in-depth about PBR textures. Learn the different types of PBR textures. Where to acquire PBR textures. And the strategy of how to apply PBR textures onto 3d models. You will also learn why you don't want to rotate a normal map and how to overcome the issue if you do need to rotate it. After that, you will also learn how to use substance materials directly inside 3ds Max. At the end of the second chapter, you will do another project. You will use all the knowledge you have so far to add material and PBR textures onto a kitchen table product.

In the third chapter, we will focus on the UV unwrapping techniques. You will learn the basics of the Unwrap modifier. Learn the automatic methods of UV unwrapping. Then learn UV editing techniques from the various selection methods to using the UV transform tools. After that, you will learn how to lock, filter, hide, and freeze sub-objects in the UV editor. Next, you will learn different methods of separating and combining UV clusters such as using the "break" command, weld commands, and stitch commands. Then we move on to the quick transform features. These tools can help you speed up the UV editing process. For example, you can quickly straighten UV clusters, etcetera. After that, you will do another project creating a low poly barrel. In this project, you will learn different approaches to unwrap a 3d model. Then learn how to export the UV layout from 3ds Max to other graphic software. Learn to paint the texture and then bring the texture back to 3ds Max. After the project, you will learn different methods of UV unwrapping using the peel seams features. Then at the end of the third chapter, you will do another project creating a product packaging. The challenge of this project is to create a UV layout that follows a given print design.

The fourth chapter is dedicated to the final project. At this stage, you will use all the knowledge you learned before in this course to create a chair product. You will start with adding the environment light. Then creating the materials through the use of PBR textures. And then UV unwrap the models. Because each part of the model is different, you will use different UV unwrapping techniques that best suit the model's part. After that, the rendering process. Here is the result of the final project.

After completing the course, in sha Allah, you will have solid foundations on how to create materials, adding textures, and UV unwrap 3D models like this one. I hope you find this course interesting and beneficial.

In this course we will cover the concepts of leverage and break-even analysis from a corporate finance perspective.

Leverage is a critical component of decision making in corporate finance and is an area of debate as to the optimal amount of leverage. Finding the best level of leverage may allow a business to grow much faster.

We will discuss the concepts of operating leverage, financial leverage, and combined leverage and include practical practice problems related to these critical concepts.

Break-even analysis is a fundamental tool in decision making. Learners will understand the concept of break-even analysis, including the tool of breaking costs up by their behavior, labeling them fixed costs and variable costs. Labeling costs by category of fixed and variable can seem unnatural at first, because we often label costs by function, what the cost is designed to do, like operating expenses and cost of goods sold. Labeling cost by behavior helps us see how the cost changes with relation to increases in production level, a useful concept for projecting into the future.

The course will show how to calculate the break-even point and the cash break-even point. We will also discuss the concept of nonlinear break-even analysis.

This course will include many practice problems, often including downloadable Excel worksheets. Each Excel worksheet will have at least to tabs, one with the answer, one with a preformatted worksheet that learners can populate along with step-by-step instructional videos.

Spring Batch is one of the many excellent tools from the Spring Framework. Unfortunately, it is rarely used. One reason may be that the learning curve at the beginning is a little steeper than with the usual Spring. As an example, a simple Hello World application will easily fill a screen page. But this first hurdle should not stop you from learning this framework. Once you have modeled your data processing with Spring Batch, you will have countless optimization possibilities at your disposal. Everyone who has ever dealt with serious batch processing will sooner or later encounter the problems that this framework has already solved. For me, the greatest problem of concern is state handling and error analysis. Proper maintenance is much more difficult than you might think at first. A long-running process, which executes all tasks one after the other might function well and has no problems. But when interruptions, repetitions, parallelism, or asynchronous calls are added, then the greatest effort of thought is required to build a stable solution. In cases where errors occur in live operation and need to be solved immediately, you would need a good tool to deliver corrections quickly.

For this course, I worked through the latest documentation and programmed several practical examples based on it. I will show you the individual features step by step in small unit tests, with which you can learn everything experimentally on your own. Using practical examples, you will learn how everything is connected. Everything I teach here is something that I implement in my day-to-day work. My colleagues and I have high standards for the quality of our work. I also try to incorporate this aspect into the structure of the source texts for this course, so that you can learn practical examples.
