QSConnect module for SOLIDWORKS never ends with "Transfer failed". The software guides the user to create an error-free model in SOLIDWORKS;
QUICKSURFACE has neither hardware integration with scanners nor mesh processing tools which the modern 3D scanners provide. As a result of this, the user does not have to pay extra for tools already included in the 3D scanners' software;

Three-dimensional model design, especially the creation of human or animal-like characters, requires some knowledge in this area and, most importantly, a set of suitable tools for the job. For those who made some 3D creations using various specialized software solutions and need to work on them without having to install each program again, a utility like Metasequoia can be the right choice.

This application manages to provide a strong set of features and make them available from a really friendly interface. There are several modes to operate Metasequoia, namely Beginner, Modeling (string), Modeling (icon) and Mapping.

Each of these styles comes with its commands for editing the loaded model, setting the appropriate lighting and more. There is a wide variety of objects that you can select and insert in the design, as well as some tools that are meant for modifying the model you are working on.

The editing function that Metasequoia is equipped with are rather basic, but, nonetheless, cover all the necessary actions for handling objects, material faces and vertices. Each selected portion of the design can be fixed, stored or restored when needed, as well as fit to view or set as center of rotation.

There are many customizations that can be made to the application from the 'Configuration' area, so you can assign, for instance, various actions to mouse buttons and key combinations. Texture rendering imperfections and some glitches that may occur can be avoided by adjusting the Direct3D and OpenGL preview options.

All things considered, Metasequoia seems to be a worthy alternative to more complex utilities of its kind, especially thanks to the ease of use coupled with a good support for a variety of formats this software is able to work with.

Day 1 - Introduction to Bioinformatics

We will start this course with a brief definition of Bioinformatics - what exactly it constitutes of, and the importance of this field in the scientific world. Also, I will share with you the history of how Bioinformatics came into being - the reason why it was coined.

Day 2 - Bioinformatics Databases

One of the reasons why Bioinformatics exists is due to the increased amount of biological datasets. These are huge scientific research outputs that need to be managed. In this chapter you will learn first of all how data is stored and manipulated. Subsequently I will begin to introduce to you about nucleotide databases. Bioinformatics is all about managing data and providing scientific knowledge. In this chapter we will also focus on protein databases. These two types of databases compliment each other and both are important for your studies. An example of database that we will be covering here is UniProt.

Day 3 - Sequence Alignment

This is one of my favorite chapters. Have you ever wonder how two sequences are being compared using two different sequence alignment algorithms? Think about aligning 100 DNA sequences at one time - is there a way to perform the multiple sequence alignment? In this chapter I will teach you how to perform Global and Local sequence alignments - it's all about basic concepts of scoring matrices. Let's get serious with Bioinformatics from here onward!

Day 4 - BLAST programs

Yeaps! Also my favorite! I will teach you how to perform a Local sequence alignment using a Bioinformatics tool known as BLAST (Basic Local Alignment Search Tool). We will look into both nucleotide and protein sequence BLAST programs and learn how to read and interpret BLAST results in-details.

Day 5 - Molecular Phylogenetics

Let's get straight to the point. You are uniquely different and special! If you are a big fan of X-Men and other Sci-Fi Hollywood movies talking about aliens, superhuman, man with extraordinary powers, or even just about how diversified we are - this is the time to pay attention to this module. I will teach you about how species is identified and classified using genetic data. To do that we will also be looking into several types of phylogeny analysis algorithms and construct a tree of life from a specific set of sequences. Don't skip this session!

Day 6 - Genome Analysis

In this module you will learn about a genome. We will look closely into both structural and comparative genomics. The detail parts begin with the sequencing technologies and followed with genome assembly and annotation.

Welcome to PyTorch: Deep Learning and Artificial Intelligence!

Although Google's Deep Learning library Tensorflow has gained massive popularity over the past few years, PyTorch has been the library of choice for professionals and researchers around the globe for deep learning and artificial intelligence.

Is it possible that Tensorflow is popular only because Google is popular and used effective marketing?

Why did Tensorflow change so significantly between version 1 and version 2? Was there something deeply flawed with it, and are there still potential problems?

It is less well-known that PyTorch is backed by another Internet giant, Facebook (specifically, the Facebook AI Research Lab - FAIR). So if you want a popular deep learning library backed by billion dollar companies and lots of community support, you can't go wrong with PyTorch. And maybe it's a bonus that the library won't completely ruin all your old code when it advances to the next version.

On the flip side, it is very well-known that all the top AI shops (ex. OpenAI, Apple, and JPMorgan Chase) use PyTorch. OpenAI just recently switched to PyTorch in 2020, a strong sign that PyTorch is picking up steam.

If you are a professional, you will quickly recognize that building and testing new ideas is extremely easy with PyTorch, while it can be pretty hard in other libraries that try to do everything for you. Oh, and it's faster.

Deep Learning has been responsible for some amazing achievements recently, such as:

Generating beautiful, photo-realistic images of people and things that never existed (GANs)

Beating world champions in the strategy game Go, and complex video games like CS:GO and Dota 2 (Deep Reinforcement Learning)

Self-driving cars (Computer Vision)

Speech recognition (e.g. Siri) and machine translation (Natural Language Processing)

Even creating videos of people doing and saying things they never did (DeepFakes - a potentially nefarious application of deep learning)

This course is for beginner-level students all the way up to expert-level students. How can this be?

If you've just taken my free Numpy prerequisite, then you know everything you need to jump right in. We will start with some very basic machine learning models and advance to state of the art concepts.

Along the way, you will learn about all of the major deep learning architectures, such as Deep Neural Networks, Convolutional Neural Networks (image processing), and Recurrent Neural Networks (sequence data).

Even if you've taken all of my previous courses already, you will still learn about how to convert your previous code so that it uses Tensorflow 2.0, and there are all-new and never-before-seen projects in this course such as time series forecasting and how to do stock predictions.

This course is designed for students who want to learn fast, but there are also "in-depth" sections in case you want to dig a little deeper into the theory (like what is a loss function, and what are the different types of gradient descent approaches).

I'm taking the approach that even if you are not 100% comfortable with the mathematical concepts, you can still do this! In this course, we focus more on the PyTorch library, rather than deriving any mathematical equations. I have tons of courses for that already, so there is no need to repeat that here.

Instructor's Note: This course focuses on breadth rather than depth, with less theory in favor of building more cool stuff. If you are looking for a more theory-dense course, this is not it. Generally, for each of these topics (recommender systems, natural language processing, reinforcement learning, computer vision, GANs, etc.) I already have courses singularly focused on those topics.
