About

Rather than the linear row of Spaces that is provided by Mission Control, TotalSpaces2 allows you to create a grid that can be navigated with keyboard shortcuts and trackpad gestures.

One of the most useful features of TotalSpaces2 is that it allows you to assign certain applications to particular Spaces. This means that if you have a 3x3 grid, you can ensure that your Twitter client is always in the top left space and that your email client is always in the middle right.

Switching between applications using Command Tab, by default, displays the applications in the order they have been most recently used. this means that your email client may require a different number of Tab presses each time you switch to it. By using TotalSpaces2 to assign it to a specific position in a grid, you can rapidly and reliably switch to it at will.

TotalSpaces2 is especially useful on smaller screened devices, such as the MacBook Air line. On larger screens it is possible to display two programs side by side, however, on 13" and smaller screens, things become very cramped if you try this.

With TotalSpaces2, you can ensure that the two programs you routinely use together, such as a browser for research and a text editor for writing, are adjacent in the grid so that you can rapidly switch between them with a keyboard shortcut or gesture.

What's New and Resolved Issues in MicroStation CONNECT Edition Update 13

The MicroStation CONNECT Edition Team examined and resolved many issues across multiple areas for MicroStation CONNECT Edition Update 13. In addition to resolving User defects that have been listed below, we would like to highlight a few key areas that were focused on for this release.

The key drivers were:
- Performance
- Usability
- Functionality

From a usability and functionality standpoint, you will see improvements in the time to open and list properties in the Properties dialog and the introduction of the V8i Task Theme to help with the user experience of users moving from V8i to MicroStation CONNECT Edition.

In regard to Performance, large files (~600MB and larger) will have improved opening times that can be potentially be exponential when compared to MicroStation V8i SELECTSeries 10. Please keep your eyes on Bentley Communities for Blog posts on this and other performance related topics.

In the area of Visualization, improvements have been made to Material and Mapping handling, improvements to the LumenRT Exporter and a new PBR (Physically Based Rendering) content library.

RealDWG 2019 in MicroStation CONNECT Edition Update 13 is now supported from a file open and save standpoint. In addition, performance improvements have been made when opening DWG files with ACIS Solids.

From the Modeling area, the MicroStation Team resolved critical issues with the legacy solids modeling tools resulting in smoother workflow and operation. The minimum recommended workstation profile for running MicroStation CONNECT Edition is:

Processor Intel or AMD processor 1.0 GHz or greater. MicroStation is not supported on a CPU that does not support SSE2.
Memory 4 GB minimum, 16 GB recommended. More memory almost always improves performance, particularly when working with larger models.
Hard Disk 9 GB free disk space (which includes the 5.6 GB install footprint for a complete installation)
Video See the graphics card manufacturer for latest information on DirectX drivers. 512 MB of video RAM or higher is recommended. If insufficient video RAM or no graphics card supported by DirectX can be found, MicroStation attempts to use software emulation. For optimal performance, graphics display color depth should be set to 24-bit or higher. When using a color depth setting of 16-bit, some inconsistencies will be noted.
