Course Overview

Welcome to this Amazing course on AWS CloudFormation Simplified. We will learn by practically implementing all the CloudFormation concepts with multiple examples.

AWS CloudFormation is a core Service in AWS which allows us to automate the Infrastructure and Application Deployments. We can achieve Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and Infrastructure as Code when using AWS CloudFormation in combination with AWS Developer Tools like AWS CodeCommit, AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodeDeploy and AWS CodePipeline.

Veeam Backup and Replication, like any solution you probably want for backups is a dead simple tool for accomplishing the task. But even dead simple tools still require a little instruction on how they approach the backup and recovery process. Knowing how exactly to use these tools to ensure greatest success is part of using them correctly. Actually using Veeam Backup and Replication for Backup and Replication - and restores - is the theme for our conversation here. In this second course out of three, Backup, Recover, and Replicate Workloads with Veeam Backup and Replication, you'll begin by being introduced to the architecture of Veeam's backups, getting to know the three unique methods that Veeam can use to store data. Armed with this information, you'll configure and execute a series of backup jobs, exploring the variety of ways that backup jobs can be configured. Next, you'll extend your reach by configuring replication jobs to a secondary disaster recovery site. Then, you'll restore that data, whether it be entire VMs all the way down to individual files. Finally, having done all these activities atop the VMware vSphere hypervisor, you'll see their similarities and differences atop Microsoft's Hyper-V. By the end of this course, you'll be armed with the experience you need to backup, replicate, and recover any virtual or physical workload using your Veeam Backup and Replication infrastructure.

Many web applications and services are built using the Spring Framework. While Spring is incredibly powerful and useful nobody can accuse it of being lightweight. Many developers look for something that 'just works', that does not have too much overhead. In this course, Building Web Applications in Kotlin Using Ktor, you will learn about the framework that more and more JVM developers are looking at as a programming language because of the benefits it has such as support of immutable data and null detection, as well as having less of the bloat of Java. Bring these two together, a lightweight HTTP framework and a nice programming language and you get Ktor. First, you will explore Ktor - an open source project developed by JetBrains, the creators of Kotlin. It is heavily based on Kotlin coroutines and so supports a high degree of asynchrony. Next, you will discover how you can use Ktor to develop both REST and HTML based web sites that are secure and extensible. Finally, you will gain an understanding of how to produce complex server-based applications or standalone HTTP client applications. Specific topics include: "Big-oh" notation, sorting and searching, divide and conquer (master method, integer and matrix multiplication, closest pair), randomized algorithms (QuickSort, contraction algorithm for min cuts), data structures (heaps, balanced search trees, hash tables, bloom filters), graph primitives (applications of BFS and DFS, connectivity, shortest paths).

About the instructor: Tim Roughgarden has been a professor in the Computer Science Department at Stanford University since 2004. He has taught and published extensively on the subject of algorithms and their applications.

The Country Blues guitar duet tradition is rich and varied, but it has been relatively unexplored by present day blues players. This is a shame for a couple of reasons - there are a lot of great duets that merit being worked out and played for today's audiences, preserving the music, but there's also just the sheer enjoyment and fun involved in playing this music with a kindred spirit, someone who hears and responds to this music as you do yourself.

In several instances, the two guitar parts are played out of different tunings or positions. In the course of the lesson, you'll work through and learn Kansas Joe & Memphis Minnie's Pile Drivin' Blues, Walter Beasley and Sylvester Weaver's Toad Frog Blues, Will Batts and Dan Sane's Country Woman, Yank Rachell and Dan Smith's Squeaky Work Bench Blues and Frank Stokes and Dan Sane's What's The Matter Blues.
For each one of the songs in the lesson, John and Frank take turns teaching their parts, which are then shown in slowed-down split-screen versions of each duet part followed by the two guitars together. TAB and standard notation of the guitar parts and the song lyrics are included as a PDF file on the DVD, as are the original recordings of the songs. You can choose to learn one or the other of the parts, or learn both parts and teach one to a friend. There is a richness in shared musical performance that is yours for the taking here.
