Unstructured data is the one that is generated by mobile devices and websites while structured data is an organized data which is mostly generated by the users e.g. emails, chats, telephone calls etc. Data science uses scientific methods and algorithms to extract knowledge. Industries require the use of this field immensely and the industrialists now realize the value of data science and the benefits it can provide to the business, thus, it has become very popular currently.

The need for data science

An immediate question that rises in the mind after hearing about data science is why is there a need to dig into depths for such a tool? So, it's important to understand that previously the data produced used to be structured and thus it was somehow easy to extract the meaningful information and process it. However, contemporarily the data that is being produced is mostly unstructured as there are multiple sources of its generation such as multimedia files, logs, documents etc. and data science provides aid in turning raw data into consequential one.

In the first section we will create plain Django project. This is introduction to Django framework and none previous knowledge is required.

Once the project will be setup we will add GraphQL. In that way you will be able to follow along with either your own Django project or simple project we have created together in the first section. I will explain how to create a root schema and how to create schemas for apps. Also we will implement new Django url to use graphiql: the UI to perform or queries and mutations. Once GraphQL is ready we will add Types, Queries and Mutations. I will show you different ways to write these and explain why we might use one option over another.

After we will have a solid understanding of the GraphQL and how it is connected with Django, we will dive deeper and add some extras like: Token Authentication (JWT), Relay implementations, Filters, Pagination etc.

We will finish the course with the samples how to use our backend GraphQL API with front end applications based on both React and Angular. We will have 2 separate application that will fetch data from our Django Database using our graphql API. We will use apollo library on the front end.

Description

A few years ago, Microsoft decided to radically redefine the .NET platform. An open-source, cross-platform, high performance flavor of the .NET framework was created: this is .NET Core. Additionally, C#, the most widely used .NET programming language also evolved over the years. These new developments include many performance improvements.

The goal of the course is to give you deep understanding about these performance improvements. By applying the knowledge from this course, you will be able to measure and optimize the performance of .NET Core (including ASP.NET Core), C# applications.

After a short wrap-up on .NET Core the course introduces you to the first pillar of the performance topic: measuring performance. You will learn to use tools that you can apply to measure the performance of your code running on .NET Core. Then we will focus on some important performance tricks like reducing the pressure on the GC by using value types or choosing the right collection for the given problem. After that we will see what the compiler does behind the scenes when it compiles your C# 7 code and what performance implications this has. We will talk about some new performance related APIs like ArrayPool and Span and we will also look into the performance aspects of Entity Framework Core. We will talk about the ahead of time compilation story for .NET with CrossGen and IL trimming with the .NET IL Linker. We will finish the course by learning about production performance monitoring for .NET Core.
