Description
Pregnancy Mindfulness Yoga Course is safe for mums in all trimesters - however - remember to check with your doctor before starting any exercise programme. Carrying and growing a human is no small feat; it comes with all sorts of aches and pains. Plus, it's exhausting and it inevitably changes our bodies. So, I've designed this course to help mums like myself combat aches &*pains through muscle tension release stretches and strength building postures to help gently strengthen your core - especially the transverse abdominis, which will help you carry the growing weight of your baby, protect your pelvic floor a little more, and help you avoid post-birth traumas like diastasis recti (ab separation). Pelvic floor health is another area we will be focusing on during this pregnancy course - a healthy pelvic floor means strong and flexible pelvic floor muscles. The pelvic floor has a huge job to do during pregnancy, as it supports the weight of the baby. A healthy pelvic floor also contributes to a more successful chance of natural birth and aids a speedier post-birth recovery. The pelvic floor needs to be flexible enough to allow the baby to pass with ease and strong enough to help contract the baby out, as well as strong enough that once the baby is born the mum can - as they say - "bounce back". A pre-trained pelvic floor will have muscle memory, making the post-natal healing process a little smoother and kegel exercises a little easier to do.The course is also designed to reduce the stress and anxiety that clouds a new mum's mind. We have been conditioned by television programmes and horror stories that giving birth is always a scream-fest with excruciating pain. When, in fact, our bodies are designed to open up slowly to allow a baby to pass through the birth canal. Our bodies are so intelligent that we don't even need to physically push a baby out like the old-fashioned midwives used to tell us. Breathing a baby out and allowing the body's contractions to do the work is the most effective way to give birth naturally - and it reduces post-birth traumas with tearing and pelvic floor damage. Pushing the baby out physically is only helpful when the baby needs to come out quickly, so there are times medical intervention is helpful but we have lost faith in our body's ability to give birth naturally and safely. For more information on this, I'd recommend reading up on hypnobirthing techniques to help you alongside this yoga and meditation journey. During the course, we will practice breathing techniques (pranayama)*to help calm and cool our prenatal body and*mind. I will also be guiding you through relaxing meditations to ease your mind and help retrain your brain into remembering the intelligence of your own body so that you meet your birth experience with a clear and ready mindset that "you have got this". The pranayama breathing techniques and meditations are also used as a wonderful way to connect with your baby. The bond we have with our children start with their experience of us in the belly, so the calmer we are, the calmer baby is. They are very intune with our breath, heart rate and emotions even before they are born, so we'll be using this course to positively impact how our baby feels within the womb.

In "You Learned The ASL Alphabet Wrong" you will learn correct hand positioning to fingerspell clearly.
You will learn all of the ASL manual letters in groupings, not alphabetical order, but in handshape similarities.
You will practice each grouping of letters systematically to improve your production and understanding of all the letters.
The end goal of this course is to give you a solid foundation with the manual alphabet and get you to fingerspell and read fingerspelling with relative ease.
Requirements
No prerequisites for this course. This is a beginner course and one of the first aspects of ASL that many people learn. It is also an essential skill and not one to be skipped.
Description
You probably learned the ASL alphabet WRONG!Well, it's not your fault and I'm here to make it right.Most people learn the ASL alphabet as they did the English Alphabet. BUT. ASL is a different language and should be learned as such.In part 1 we learned the right way to fingerspell starting with fist shape letters. These are the toughest to recognize and they are the most common. Fist shapes contain 4 of the 5 vowels, therefore, we start with these as they are essential. In part 2 we learned the UP shapes. With fist shapes and up shapes, you can spell most words. These are very easy to identify because they stick straight up and have unique handshapes. In part 3 we learned down and horizontal shapes. Similar to up letters, down and horizontal letters have a unique handshapes and are easy to identify. With only 2 letters left, your fingerspelling skills should be taking off!In part 4 we learned the final 2 letters. the moving letters. Learning how to produce moving letters is the challenge here but once you get it, you got it! This completes the entire alphabet. If you learned this step by step, not only do you know the entire alphabet but you are starting to develop real fingerspelling skills not just A, B, C, D.In part 5. what else is there to learn? DOUBLE LETTERS!We take it step by step to really learn to identify and perform each letter correctly before learning more letters.
