Emerald 2 is partially based on the matchless processors built in Germany between the 1960s and the '70s, known for their unique design.

The Emerald Filter expands on the filtering section of its bigger brother, in that it offers low and high pass filter cells with a selectable slope starting at 6dB/oct and going all the way up to the unusual level of 36dB/oct. It also includes the same preamp stage as the equalizer from the same plugin suite.

Fire Filters is the first Acqua plugin suite within the Fire series that is dedicated to low and high cut filters. The suite contains two unique plugins.

About Fire Filters
Audio can be processed by a several different types of filter, including band-pass, notch, all-pass, and beyond. Each filter response has its own specific field of use. For this first Fire series release, we have chosen to present variations of two of the most commonly used types: high-pass (or low cut) and low-pass (high cut). There are 13 variants of high-pass (HP) filters and the same number of low-pass (LP) filters, for a total of 26 different filters.
Thanks to careful planning and design by the Acustica team, combined with the invaluable contribution of N4 library developer SoundDrops, we have built and sampled an analog modular hardware filter to create one of the best and most complete analog emulation products for filtering on the market today.

These EQ curves offer a wide bandwidth and minimal phase distortion, enabling drastic boosts and cuts without unwanted artifacts, like slicing through butter. Opal fully recreates the exquisite Oram Sonics Hi-Def 55 EQ, which was faithfully sampled to replicate what is possibly the most advanced system ever designed by John Oram. English Charm, Refined Sound
The Hi-Def 55 is made in England, and is built to extremely high standards. It is characterized by an extremely musical sound, made possible by an intelligently designed set of features: 8 bands of overlapping adjustment per channel, the unique combining of shelf and bell curves, a "detail" function, and much more.
The Opal collection includes two plugins. One is the standard version of the Hi-Def 55, as originally designed by John Oram. The second one provides extended functionality by adding a preamp input trim, mid/side, pan, and spread controls, as well as an independent channel output control.
About John Oram
John Oram is a legendary name in the electronic musical industry, whose designs have been nominated for 23 Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards. His creative talents as a musician, producer, touring drummer, mixing and technical engineer have lead him to work with some of the most important bands and audio companies from the early 60s onward, including the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Vox and Trident Audio.
As part of the Vox team he was the designer of the Wah-Wah, The Fuzz Box and Continental Organ, leading to the circuitry design for the VOX AC50 and the Super Beatle amplifiers.
