Section One of this course will gave Ong Moon (*5 Gates )*from the Jeet Kune Do Lineage. Then from Wing Chun, the Siu Nim Tao and Chum Kiu will be taught. It is important to understand that we will be using these to understand structure and movement. Later on, we will delve into why it is taught this way*(abc's) and then go into combat application. Section two will cover the wooden man (*Muk yan Jong ). For my Wing Chun brethren, I apologize. We are not using the traditional numbering system here. I*am an JKD-Man after all, so we will use the JKD*numbering system. "*Wing Chun "*1 - 10 will be covered. Followed by Jeet kune do 1 - 8. The ultimate goal here is to be able to treat the wooden man like you would a western heavy bag. An example of this will be found at the end. The Drills4Skills will include some basic level trapping, which you've learned during your section two training. It will also go over some classic JKD*drills. We added a little more Kali and one of our special tutorials called "*Moments of Opportunity ". Thanks for training with us. We will see you again!

This class, Procreate Highly Textural Mixed Media Cactus Art, has proven to be so much fun! I have loved adding all the mixed media elements to make it look really authentic. In the end, the time it takes is similar to that of a natural media piece, but NO MESS! I also loved the flexibility of working with blending modes, and minor things like adjusting the scale of the patterns. That is NOT POSSIBLE when working with natural media. The blending modes helped to create pieces which were very cohesive, and I think it would be very easy to create a collection of homogenous pieces.In this class I'll walk you through:my step-by-step method for incorporating mixed media elements to an illustrationtips for creating compositions for a varied and appealing illustration using mixed media brushesmy workflow for use of layers and other great features like clipping maskscreating and adjusting shadows and highlights to perfect the depth and dimension of the piecescreating a full background that compliments the foreground illustrationmethods for keeping the illustration fully editable for later adjustments and recoloringIf you've been curious and interested in mixed media art, you'll be able to go through all the steps by following the lessons. The tricky part is layering and separating each layer so it will be easier to apply textures and patterns later. Watch me make a couple of mistakes and learn from them! We will add dimension to each and then we will add soil to each of the pots. You will recognize the concept: we make an area of color with a brush and then blur it. Once blurred, we go back and sharpen some of the edges. Keeping in mind the depth and dimension, we use some very dark colors for shading and especially dark on the back-most layers. I really mix it up with the brushes, and we add all sorts of different finishes. It is so much fun! We are one step closer to finalizing our design now.Lesson 6: Prickly Pear and Tree Cactus DetailsAt this stage, I want to show you the addition of authentic mixed media files which include finishes such as collage. We build the texture details slowly but surely, using blending modes, opacity changes, hue and saturation shifts, and adding brush texture until we are happy with the results.Lesson 7: Texture and lnterest on the Plant PotsIn this lesson, we add much more of the mixed media details to the plants and pots. I show you how to keep patterns in the correct perspective so that it shows curvature. We also reinforce any shading details to help make the plant pots look dimensional.Lesson 8: Finishing Touches and Final DetailsIn this lesson, I give you a bunch of ideas for adding details like spikes and prickles on the cacti. I also talk about adding more dimension with shadows.Lesson 9: Time Lapse, Mock Ups, and ConclusionWe will conclude everything in this lesson. I will debrief with you as I show you the time lapse that demonstrates my process. Sometimes, a quick and fun project is what we are looking for, right? I was experimenting in Procreate, practicing the use of shadows to create a cut paper look and I decided to steer into the Mother's Day weekend coming up soon. Thus was born the idea for this class, creating a Paper Cut Silhouette Greeting Card for Mother's Day.This new class, Paper Cut Silhouette Greeting Card for Mother's Day, will show you some of my illustration methodology, and ways to use brushes to create the floral wreath that will punctuate the silhouette. We will do a total of 4 shadow layers. In the class, I take you from start to finish in creating the full illustration and all the add-ons. We will do a lot of creative problem-solving along the way and make design decisions on the fly. One of my goals is to show you how to create the shadows and highlights. You will also receive an overview of the making of the flower stamp brush and the paper texture. I show you where to grab a silhouette for use and how I created mine.Lesson 2: Starting on the LayoutIn this lesson, I will break down the complete process of choosing what brushes to use as well as showing you how to add the lettering, which I modify. I show you several of the brushes from the resources package and explain how to position the stamped flowers. With every move I make with the flowers, I explain the reasoning behind the choices I make.Lesson 3: Layering for That Paper Cut LookIn this lesson, I will explain some of the key techniques I use for layering and adding shadow and explain every step of the way. By the end of the lesson, you will have the beginnings of the shadowing technique, and you will know how to use the brushes in the accompanying download or that you made for yourself earlier. We will add that texture to the layer to make it look like real paper. I will show you how I built up the layers and then started to apply the shading.Lesson 4: Adding Realistic Highlights and EffectsIn this lesson I will show you two methods to add a slight hairline of highlight along the edges to simulate thickness on the paper. I also continue with adding shadows and highlights to the remaining layers.Lesson 5: Adding Extra Peripheral ElementsIn this lesson, we will do a bunch of the finishing touches. I show you how to make a butterfly brush to use as a peripheral element to enhance the layout. I speak to the directionality of the highlights and shadows, too. We are now a step closer to finalizing our design now.Lesson 6: Finishing Touches and TimelapseAdding all the finishing touches is the focus of this lesson. I hope you are ready for more dimension in Procreate, because that's what this class is all about. The art we will be producing today looks like an authentic paper cut flower, all inspired by a poster I saw. This class, Create a Realistic Dimensional Paper Flower Using Shadows and Highlights, will show you some of my illustration and dimension creating methodology. We will mainly be using Procreate airbrushes to paint the soft highlights and shadows, and there will be a ton of info on drawing and general use of selections and a few other shortcuts I think are relevant.In the class, I take you from start to finish in creating the dimensional flower, while of course adding details to make it unique. Once we have the shadow established, we will airbrush some variety into it to make it look more natural. I show you a bunch more adjustments as we work our way through this lesson.Lesson 5: Adding the HighlightsIn this lesson, we begin to add the highlights that give it so much added dimension. I guide you through it step-by-step while pointing out all the things to look for in the example. Then we will use liquify to adjust the petals to look more organic. I will be finalizing most of the dimension. We are one step closer to finalizing our flower now.Lesson 6: Background and Texture DetailsAdding all the finishing touches is the focus of this lesson. Description
Do you love pattern design but struggle to come up with ideas? Take a look in your sketchbook for inspiration to create your own digital pattern which can be adapted for pattern design. This class will focus on taking an initial sketchbook painting or drawing, re-arranging it as necessary using Photoshop, re-inking the line drawing, and finally, creating a diamond half-drop repeat pattern. This class will also include automation processes which can be used in the future to streamline the process and make it much faster. In the wake of the Textile Designer plugin being pulled by Adobe, you will benefit from learning and putting into practice some of the steps you would have used this plug-in for.To get started, all you need is an initial drawing from a sketchbook to work on, a good quality flatbed scanner, and some basic skills in an image editing software like Photoshop. If you don't have a scanner, you can also photograph your sketches. The trick is to photograph them keeping your camera perfectly level and perpendicular to the art. Good lighting is also essential - I often photograph outdoors in full light. Using these measures, you won't distort the image, and all the details will be captured faithfully.In this course, I'm sharing everything I've learned about my entire process through trial and error. I'll show you my step-by-step procedures, from tracing to cleaning up the illustration in Photoshop. Then I will explain my tricks for working with the offset filter to create a full and complex pattern, having the filter do most of the work for us.There are a few key tricks to doing this right in Photoshop, but once you play around with the software and get the hang of it, you may just find yourself creating automated processes for all the different types of pattern repeats. It really just takes some practice. Once you get it down pat, it's actually pretty amazing how fast and easy it can be to make a repeating pattern.careful, though! You won't want to stop once you know how!Once you have your repeat pattern done, you can use companies like Spoonflower or Print on Demand sites to design your own wallpaper, fabric or gift wrap, or to create custom products. Wouldn't it be fun to make fabric and upholster a chair or make curtains with your art?As far as prerequisite skills, I would recommend some knowledge of Photoshop with the goal of wanting to learn additional techniques. In class, we'll talk about both design and technical aspects of creating a pattern from an initial sketchbook artwork. I will demonstrate them at a reasonable pace so that it will be easy to follow along. This course is for all levels; I recommend being acquainted with Photoshop to a certain degree. I suggest pausing and repeating sections and possibly even slowing the speed in your browser when trying to work through any difficult parts.
