Learn the consequences of climate change
Establish the importance and urgency to take action to stop climate change
Requirements
No requirements needed
Description
Hi everyone,In this course, we will address the climate change phenomenon from many angles and we will discuss its causes, consequences, and solutions.Greenhouse gases are the reason behind this phenomenon. These gases, mainly carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide, have increased in concentration in recent years in the atmosphere because of fossil fuel combustion, agriculture and livestock, and deforestation. These gases hold solar radiation and increase the earth's temperature, which leads to global warming which eventually causes climate change. The increase of carbon dioxide concentration in the air causes also oceans acidification.Climate change generates a lot of unwanted effects on many levels such as Extreme weather event intensification like floods and droughts, melting of ice caps and glaciers, propagation of diseases and pests, habitat destruction, coral bleaching, and many social and economic impacts. Thus, we organized the course on climate change into three parts :• Part one discusses direct causes of climate change, mainly fossil energy, agriculture, and deforestation, and indirect causes like capitalism, corporate lobbying, cryptocurrency, and science deniers. It also explains greenhouse gases' origins and the concepts of global warming and climate change.• Part 2 details some of climate change consequences, such as :*• Extreme weather and natural disasters*• Ice Melting*• Disease carrier and pest propagation*• Habitat destruction and wildlife loss*• Coral reef destruction*• Economic and social consequences• Part 3 is dedicated to solutions to stop climate change, which includes solutions on governmental and individual levels, renewable energy, and transport electrification.I hope you enjoy the course!

Description
This course and practice exams are neither endorsed by, nor in partnership, nor affiliated with Scrum .org.This course includes content to prepare you for taking Scrum .org's Professional Scrum Master® level 1 (PSM I ®) assessment.-----------------------Interested in delivering more value, in less time? Then, this course is for you!In this course, you will master how to boost your value delivery stream using Scrum, the most popular Agile framework.Check out some data that shows that mastering Scrum is a great opportunity for you:Glassdoor includes Scrum Master, which is a Scrum Accountability, in its list of highest-paying jobs, with an average of $97,000+, per year.LinkedIn included Product Owner, another Scrum Accountability, in its 2020 Most Promising Jobs list. The Project Management Institute claims that 70%*of organizations worldwide are using Agile. The State of Agile Report 2020 claims that around 70% of Agile initiatives worldwide adopt Scrum. At this point, you have enough information to understand that learning Scrum can uplift your career. However, why take this course?Let me give you 10 reasons why taking this course is a smart move for you.1) The instructor, Mirko Perkusich, has both industry and academic experience. He has over 10 years of experience working with big players in the software industry, such as Nokia, Asus, and Sony; additionally, he has also worked with startups. Further, he has a Ph.D. in Computer Science. His research focuses mostly on Agile Software Development (and Scrum) with over 60 published international scientific articles in state-of-the-art journals and conferences. He is the only instructor on Udemy capable of bringing the best of industry and academy to enhance your learning experience.2) The course is eye-opening, clearly explaining Scrum with examples, proper learning curve, analogies, and visual explanations!3) The course is filled with practical real-world cases, including the Scrum War Stories, for you to learn how Scrum works behind the trenches.4) The course contains exclusive practice exams for you to simulate the experience of taking the Professional Scrum Master I (PSM*I) certification assessment and test your knowledge.5) You won't only dominate the most popular Agile framework for delivering products, Scrum, but also all the skills you need to be a successful Agile (Scrum) manager (or practitioner) recognized and capable of conquering great opportunities in the labor market.6) This course was strategically built to maximize your learning potential by using scientifically demonstrated techniques to optimize your brain's capabilities of constructing the necessary neural paths to learn its content.7) This course offers free extra content to help you to study (and learn) faster by using scientifically proven techniques.8) This course is the only one that goes beyond the technicalities of Scrum and offers, for free, extra courses for your complementary formation in interpersonal soft skills that will potentialize your results (read more below).9) We go WAY*beyond what other courses go. Instead of selling Scrum and Agile as the silver bullet for Project Management (SPOILER:*it is not!), and sell ourselves as "agile gurus" or something similar, we teach you how to use Scrum to solve complex problems, but we give you the necessary context to understand when, why and how to use it. 10) This course is a result of years of applying Agile and Scrum in companies from the most diverse areas. Even though not all the practices discussed in the course can be automatically applied to other situations, this course explains to you the necessary foundations to tailor the discussed solutions to your context, even if you know nothing today!------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------###Innovating and bringing a complete formation for students, the course brings several extra benefits:###[Extra 01] 220 practice questions for Professional Scrum Master I (PSM*I) Certification.###[Extra 02] Crash course on Kanban.###[Extra 03] Crash course on Leadership.###[Extra 04] Crash course on Negotiation. ###[Extra 05] Crash course on Productivity with the best personal productivity technique (Getting Things Done, GTD).------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------If you still have any doubts, check below real testimonials from students that purchased courses from Mirko Perkusich! What if you, for whatever reason, want a refund? This course has a 30-day money-back guarantee policy! No questions asked! There is no risk for you! What are you waiting for? Join now and take a step further into mastering Scrum and uplift your career!------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Students Testimonials (What are students saying about Mirko's courses?):"Undoubtedly the Best Course! Thanks a MIllion, Mirko!!!" - Mirza Mehdi, Business Analyst"As my goal is to get in a role of a Scrum Master, learning about Scrum, in general, is a must. This course gives good overall knowledge about the topic, with examples and some good tips. For me, as a beginner, it was a valuable experience." - Marko Djordjevic"I like the course content! I will definitely recommend taking the course if you want to gain the full guide on Agile and specifically on Scrum. The Instructor explains each detail very clearly. Before this, I took another good course, but it gave me basic knowledge. This one was the best match for me. It gave me complete and enough knowledge about Scrum." - Anna Kirakosyan, Project Coordinator"I never worked with Agile/Scrum, but I heard a lot, mainly negative things, so I started this course from a quite pessimistic and skeptical point of view. Now I can say, it was changed now, however, my opinion is still that some companies try to use the Agile/Scrum method as a golden tool for everything, even when the traditional project management would be better in that case. Anyway, now my opinion was changed and I would be happy to use this new knowledge in my job. During the training I got all help and support from the trainer, even for my extra questions. So finally I am very satisfied and I could offer this training to others without any doubt. Thanks, Mirko! " - Gabor Szentesi, Quality Manager"This course is one of the best I've taken in Udemy. I like its progressive style along with helpful quizzes and tips, which has helped me to assimilate and consolidate a solid knowledge about agile management with Scrum. Not to mention the insights that Dr. Mirko brings to the table with a perfect alignment between theory and practice, which also helped me a lot to connect with the concepts covered in the course. Dr. Mirko has great teaching skills. I couldn't recommend it more." - João Nunes, Software Engineer"The course brings a lot of valuable information. The way that it's conducted and things are presented makes it easier to stay focused on the lectures. Moreover, the fact that it's not focused on Scrum practices and roles only, and relations with Agile principles are made, makes it even more valuable. I strongly recommend it to anyone. For people who already know Scrum very well, this is a good source of information to recycle from time to time, or even acquire a deeper understanding about it." - Arthur Freire,*Software Engineering"It's a clear course with pleasant listening. It has a glossary, templates, and tips for learning (I used the concept maps). The course is hands-on with helpful quizzes (You write yourself epics, use backlogs, and more). You will get a good idea of Scrum and insights on project management. It's to-the-point, quite fast-paced (perfect), and fun. I can only recommend this course!" - Diana van Wijk, Marketing Specialist"The course not only conveys knowledge and skills but also teaches the right approach that significantly increases the efficiency of using this framework. All in an accessible and friendly, but also professional, form." - Bagu Bagu"I came in knowing nothing about Scrum and I now I feel that I am prepared to apply it. This course doesn't focus only on certifications, which are nice but don't mean much. It focuses on putting Scrum to practice. So, yes, I recommend it if you really want to know how to apply Scrum, when to use it, and when not to. Great job!" - José Silva, Undergrad student"Informative, comprehensive, and good consolidated training...absorbed and enjoyed the learning curve. Thanks to Mirko and team!" - Narayan Ragothma Rao, Executive Director"Dr. Mirko has good didactic and strong skills in both academic and Industry study cases. So, I recommend this course to you get the knowledge, practice and if you so get the Scrum Certification, this course is really complete." - Leonardo Melo de Medeiros, College Professor, and Research Scientist"Very good! The approach of not only talking about the practices but focus on the agile mindset and management is what attracted me the most to this course and it has been a great experience. The first section is done and I didn't even notice. Congratulations on such an excellent course." - Thiago Xavier, UI and UX*Designer"I like how you get straight to the point but also make things very clear to understand!" - Nina Paleracio"All concepts clearly explained. Great examples and case studies provided to reinforce the theory." - Crystal Glassford, General Manager"Very good course. Didactic and objective content." - Maria Elaine Silva dos Santos, Undergrad student"This was a great course for a beginner or as a refresher course for those experienced." - Patrick Lowen"So far so good. I like the way the content is explained using lots of examples and visuals, helps me understand better and the learning pace is good for me too." - Jonathan Nathan, IT*Project Manager"He's actually doing a great job of making what I was presuming to be a boring, tired class, into something I want to learn. Not lying about the subject matter is the best start. Promises kept are promises earned." - Jeremy D Shorter, Financial Analyst"Mirko has a very good didactic and the course is highly recommended for people who are looking to develop their skills in agile management. There are also good quizzes to help us to keep in mind the presented content" - Giovani Cavalcante Barbosa,*Data Scientist"Very good course. It is clear, direct, instructive, exactly what I need to get started with Scrum. This course indeed exceeded my expectations." - Leandro Dias da Silva, College Professor and Research Scientist"I was a little bit tired of too theoretical explanations with no real-world cases. This course is not like that, but it really is a straightforward approach that is helping to adapt and improve the management skills of my project teams. For me, it worths a five-star rating, certainly the 60-lessons worths the price by itself." - Fabricio Silva, QA*Manager"It's the best online course on agile management. I think it was under-promised and over-delivered. The course organization and resources are amazing. I especially liked that the instructors shared the obstacles and challenges for applying Scrum in practice." - Kyller Costa Gorgônio, College Professor and Research Scientist------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Legal Information and DisclaimerProfessional Scrum™, Professional Scrum Master™, PSM™, PSM I™, PSM 1™, Scrum Guide™ and Nexus Guide™ are protected brands of Scrum. org, the organization responsible for developing and sustaining both, the Scrum Guide™ and the Nexus Guide™.This course, including the practice exams, are neither endorsed by nor affiliated with Scrum. org.Attribution and Use for the Scrum Guide™ and Nexus™Guide:This course uses content from the Scrum Guide™ and the Nexus™ Guide only for educational purposes. The Scrum Guide™ and Nexus Guide™ are made available as is.

Description
Hi, and welcome to this short course on construction cost management. This course teaches the fundamental construction management skills used to ensure projects finish under budget. The course is designed for engineers, quantity surveyors, and construction management professionals looking to further develop their learning. It's loaded with engaging lectures, quizzes, and practice activities that reflect the type of work you'll be required to do on real-world construction projects. The course is broken down into three sections; the introduction cost estimating and cost management. In the introduction, we cover the basics of construction cost management including what it is, why it's important, and the overall process on a project. We relate this back to the life cycle of a construction project so you can see where these skills are put into action.Section 2 of the course focuses on cost estimating. Estimating is the tool used to accurately quantify construction costs. We'll teach you exactly how to work out how much a construction project will cost to deliver. We cover an introduction to estimating, developing a pricing model, quantity take-offs, estimating direct and indirect costs, the final estimate review process, and submitting our estimate to the client.Section 3 focuses on cost management and control. This section will teach you how to monitor and control construction costs during project delivery. We'll teach you how to calculate all the key metrics used to determine how we are progressing compared to our budget. We cover the fundamental project management concept of earned value management, how to set up a budget, and how to monitor and track costs to identify and flag budget issues early.Hopefully, this course has something in it for you and you find it useful. If you have any questions, please get in contact and I'll answer as soon as possible! Enjoy!

I get asked a lot about how to land a job and get noticed. My answer is always to curate a portfolio that reflects your work in the best way possible. It doesn't matter how good your stuff is if it's not presented well.

In this tutorial, we cover how I set up my renders within Marmoset Toolbag. We go through the steps I take for setting up a scene, what to think about when it comes to lighting, common tools and settings, as well as some tips on what to take into consideration. We render two different materials from start to finish.
Included with this tutorial are two sets of textures for you to practice rendering with. One is a stylized texture, the other a realistic texture. We don't cover the creation of these materials, as the focus is on presentation and how to achieve the desired look.

Set up multiple streams of clients to make your freelancing all feast and no famine

What you'll learn
A nearly 100% future-proof and competition-less method for getting clients that's almost impossible to replicate or steal that almost nobody talks about.
A clever way to land your first client even if you have no portfolio and zero experience.
How I landed 60-70% of my celebrity clients. Lewis Howes, Michael Hyatt, Inc. Magazine, Tim Ferriss... this method is how I ended up working with all of them.
A devilishly simple strategy for getting clients on Upwork... when you're brand new and don't have a large portfolio or a ton of past experience.
An offline marketing method I learned from a small pizza shop -- they used to run the other two large chain pizza restaurants out of business.
Where you can find a nearly endless supply of *offline* clients -- with almost zero competition.
A "diagnostic" selling technique, used by doctors and lawyers, to get clients to hire you with almost no selling on your part.
The "signal" in Upwork's algorithm that's more important than even Job Success Score
How to sell your services "without selling" -- by using the (universally agreed upon) most powerful method for demonstrating the value of your services.
An obscure, little-known website with tens of thousands of potential clients that almost nobody knows about and virtually no one else for you to compete with.
A clever way to leverage your current job to bring you new clients and jumpstart your transition to freelancing full-time.
An obvious, but little-used, way of writing your overview on freelance sites that nearly eradicates a client's natural skepticism and distrust.
A way of selling your services that actually feels "good" and doesn't make you feel like taking a bleach bath every time you try to get hired.
The underground network of businesses and entrepreneurs in desperate need of good service providers.
The "Death By 1,000 Cuts" method for convincing your current employer to let you siphon freelance clients away from their business.
A pressure-free way to close clients on freelance sites and get them to hire you -- without a bunch of cajoling or begging and pleading.
A sly way to use "the power of God" to get clients -- and no... Jesus isn't gonna shoot lightning bolts at you for this.
A deceivingly-simple way to create a groundswell of word-of-mouth in your local community -- which can get everybody talking about you and wanting to hire you.
A simple litmus test to figure out if a prospective client is going to be a royal pain in the arse.
The hidden test nearly every freelance site uses to analyze your account that determines if they show your profile to potential clients or not.
A non-creepy way to turn every 16 and 17-year-old in your community into an evangelist for your services.
A simple trick to turn local meetup groups into a conveyor belt of new leads and potential clients for your freelance business.
How to infiltrate the clubs and organizations in your city and turn them into your personal marketing "interns".
Requirements
You need to know (or have an idea for) what freelance service you're going to offer.
Description
You've probably heard it 100 times...
"Freelancing is a feast/famine cycle". It's in virtually every article or video you'll read on "going freelance" -- regurgitated like dogma across the web. To my own shame, I'm sure I've even said it a time or two in my early days.
But, the truth is...
It doesn't HAVE to be. Instead what it really is... is a symptom of a deeper problem that most freelancers don't seem to realize they have. What is this problem, you ask? It's...
Relying WAY Too Heavily On a Single Method For Getting Clients
Inevitably, when you dig deeper what you find is most freelancers rely -- almost solely -- on one, maybe two, methods of getting clients.
Freelancing sites are a big culprit.
But also social media.
Blogging or YouTubing.
It's a Recipe For Disaster
Freelance sites change their rules. Google regularly "slaps" its search engine rankings. YouTube is all over the map as of late. Not to mention, the most effective methods I've used for getting clients in the last 17 years have either been 100% offline or completely untouchable by the tech giants that dominate the internet.
There are three methods I've never talked about that are responsible for about 80% of the clients I've got over the years. And all three are 100% "untouchable". The internet could die tomorrow and they wouldn't even notice.
In any case, the point here is simple...
You should use every method available to you. And, if you're smart, you'll use them in conjunction with one another to create multiple streams of clients into your business.
That's what smart freelancers do.
And, it's what I'm going to show you how to do in this course.
Who this course is for
New freelancers who need to learn how to get clients.
Existing freelancers struggling to get enough clients to get full-time.
Successful freelancers looking to expand into full-blown agency.
