During my college times. I often found my classmates having trouble with Thermodynamics. Heating and cooling systems in our homes and other buildings, engines that power our motor vehicles, even the design of buildings and vehicles, all incorporate information from thermodynamics to make them perform well.

What do we learn from thermodynamics?

Thermodynamics is a part of physics that involves work, heat and temperature that are related to energy, chemical reactions and physical properties of matter. Thermodynamics also deals in studying systems and how they change according to their environment such systems are turbines, engines, nozzles and reactions in closed and open reaction systems.

What is the importance of thermodynamics in engineering?

Thermodynamics is a branch of physics dealing with matter and conversion of energy, conversion of energy into heat and work in particular. Each object of interest in engineering contains matter, therefore, thermodynamics is usually included or indirectly involved in the analysis of almost all engineering problems.

Learn about the tradeoffs of using TypeScript in a Vue project

One of the big topics being discussed in Vue 3 is around TypeScript. However, for those of us who haven't jumped on the TypeScript train yet, there is understandably a lot of hesitancy when it comes to adding TypeScript to their codebase.

Let's be honest, using TypeScript in a codebase seems like it is more than just adding a library to handle a specific part of the application. After all, when we hear most people talk about TypeScript, their entire application is often written in it and it's probably hard to imagine spending time rewriting your codebase when most of us don't even have time to refactor the technical debt that already exists! And of course, even when people have added TypeScript to their codebase, it's not as if everything is suddenly better and their code is suddenly bug-free.

Like any tool or technique, there are compromises and trade-offs that often require experience and often lessons learned in order to get to a happy place for the team. Having heard all of this, the question here is, is it worth it?

Vegan diets have become very popular in recent years also thanks to the increasing attention to environmental issues. You will discover which foods are vegan and which are not and how to swap vegetal with animal proteins. You will also know more about which nutrients should be supplemented in a vegan diet and which people should be particularly careful with vegan diets, because of the possible risks of nutrient deficiencies. This section also contains menus and recipes for those who want to try this diet.

What's a paleo diet?

This is another popular diet, especially among cross-fit athletes. But, which are the principles that regulate a paleolithic diet? In this section, you will discover which foods can be consumed in this diet, and which not. Also, several myths surround this type of diet, and the course digs deeply into them. Paleo menus and recipes are also included, together with additional materials for those who want to know more on this topic.

What's a gluten-free diet?

Celiac disease affects many people and a gluten-free diet is the only way to deal with it. Gluten is contained in many foods, and it is also "hidden" in many commercial food products. Since this diet must be followed very strictly, it is important to be aware of all sources of gluten. As for the other sections, menus, recipes, and additional materials are also included.

What's a Mediterranean diet?

Overweight and obesity are on the rise everywhere. It is not surprising that a diet that is considered one of the most effective in helping people lose weight has become very popular as well. The keto diet was first "invented" by Dr. Atkins many decades ago, and it has been proposed in many different ways. In this section, we'll explore which are the principles of a keto diet, which are the potential benefits and risks.

How to lose weight?

Strictly connected to the previous one, this section will teach you a few simple, but effective rules to lose weight. Weight-loss attempts can be very frustrating, especially because most of them unfortunately fail! In my career as a nutritionist, I have helped hundreds of people lose weight and I have convinced myself that it all boils down to learning how to eat in a more strategic and mindful way.

How to gain weight?

Although less popular than the previous topic, to succeed in gaining weight can be more difficult than trying to lose weight. In this section, you will discover many strategies that can be applied to increase the amount of energy without increasing the volume of food, so that you can reach the weight you desire. Many examples of high-energy meals are also given in the supplementary materials of this section.

How to eat healthy

Working with the chakras in practice can be one resource for tapping into these inner qualities and strengths, and in this 21-day program with Sianna Sherman, you'll learn how.

This all-levels program includes seven 30-minute classes, and you'll get one class every three days. Each class is devoted to one of the seven chakras and includes a dynamic flow that integrates mantra, mudra, and pranayama. These are progressive practices, and the final seventh-chakra-themed sequence thematically integrates each of the other chakras you will have explored.

A BREAKDOWN, MODULE BY MODULE:
Class one: You'll explore muladhara chakra (the root chakra) in practice in order to invite body acceptance and feelings of groundedness and trust. This chakra is symbolized by the earth element and anatomically associated with the pelvic floor. Its seed mantra is lam.

Class two: You'll explore svadhisthana chakra (the sacral chakra, which Sianna translates as "sacred abode of self") in practice, which can help us connect with our emotional and sensual selves. This chakra is symbolized by the water element and the moon and anatomically associated with the pelvis and hips. Its seed mantra is vam.

Class three: You'll connect to the fire element in a vitalizing and empowering manipura chakra ("city of jewels") practice. This chakra is associated with the solar plexus, which spans from the navel to the base of the breastbone. Its seed mantra is ram.

Class four: You'll open to the joy in your heart with an anahata chakra (heart chakra or "unstruck sound") practice. This chakra is said to govern the heart, lungs, lymphatic system, and thymus gland. Its element is air, its essence is love, and its seed mantra is yam.

Class five: You'll explore vishuddha chakra (the throat chakra or "pure place") in practice, a chakra which can help us speak our truth with honesty, clarity, and skillfulness. Vishuddha chakra is associated with the throat, tongue, thyroid, larynx, and neck. Its element is ether and its seed sound is ham.

Class six: You'll explore ajna chakra (the eyebrow center or "command center"), a chakra that is associated with intuition, clear perception, and imagination. Anatomically, this chakra is "located" at the brow center and its seed mantra is om.

Class seven: You'll work with sahasrara chakra (the crown chakra or "thousand petaled lotus"). This chakra is, as Sianna describes it, the "full hookup" to divine source. Anatomically, sahasrara chakra is associated with the crown of the head, and spiritually it's a resource for liberation.
