Stephan Flemmig trägt den tschechischen, polnischen und deutschsprachigen Forschungsstand zu den mendikantischen Orden im hochmittelalterlichen Böhmen und Mähren zusammen. Er kann so nicht nur einen Überblick über die Geschichte der Mendikanten und ihre Ansiedlung in Böhmen und Mähren geben, sondern auch ihr Verhältnis zu den Landesherren, zum Adel und zu den Städten bestimmen sowie ihr Wirken aufzeigen. Und er arbeitet auf dieser Basis die Vielschichtigkeit des Streites von 1334 heraus.
