What is the aim of this course?

Every company has to control costs in order to survive and prosper. Therefore, many firms on regular basis perform cost reduction projects. Cost reduction project may be part of a wider Performance Improvement Project or be a standalone project carried out only in one of the business units. Those projects are extremely interesting because you will be able to make a real change, create a new reality and improve part of the business or even the whole business. There are also very difficult as you have to not only analyze areas but also find ways to cut costs, improve the current situation as well as, on some occasions, implement the change. The skills that you will learn during this sort of projects will be also very useful once you move to work for regular businesses or set-up your own firm. In this course I will show you how to deliver such projects fast and efficiently. In the course you will learn the following things:

This course is based on my 15 years of experience as a consultant in top consulting firms and as a Board Member responsible for strategy, performance improvement and turn-arounds in biggest firms from Retail, FMCG, SMG, B2B and services sectors that I worked for. I have carried or supervised over 90 different performance improvement projects in different industries that generated in total 2 billion of additional EBITDA. How the course is organized?

The course is divided currently in 8 sections. Currently you will find the following sections:

Introduction. We begin with little intro into the course as well as some general info how the course is organized

Cost reduction frameworks. In the second section I will show you the main frameworks that will help you with cost reduction. We will have a look at the general framework. I will also show you the adjustments for FMCG and retail. Frameworks are great because they help you see the big picture. They also provide you with guidance what to do to achieve your goals

Quick wins. In this section I will show you how to identify the so called quick wins - in other words big savings that you can easily achieve, implement. We will start with 2 general frameworks (80/20 and low hanging fruits) and I will show you how we can apply it to finding the projects that will generate big savings.

Process optimization in practice - Retail chain example. In the 4th section I show you how to reduce cost of process in practice. For that I will use an example of processes in a store. You will see how you should calculate the cost of the processes and what techniques you should apply to optimize processes and achieve cost reduction, savings.

Make-or-buy analysis. In the 5th section we will discuss Make-or-buy analysis. You will be carrying them out after you have implemented the quick wins. They will help you find ways to further reduce costs. Make-or-buy analysis is extremely important tool that will help you decide in a rational way what you should do in-house and what to buy

Investment analyses. A lot of money can be saved by proper investment policy. In this section I will show you how to analyze in practice investments aiming at reducing costs

Reduce usage. In this section I will show you how you can cut costs by reducing the usage of certain things that you firm is using

Spend less. In the last section I will show you how to reduce your own private spending, expenditures. These examples will help you understand and implement the general approach to cost cutting. It will also help you reduce your own personal wealth

Data cleaning or Data cleansing is very important from machine learning perspective. The term 'garbage in garbage out' refers to the same fact that without sorting what we have in the data and how to make it more presentable, no matter how good a predictive model is used, the results aren't going to be anything reliable. Beginners with machine learning starts working with the publicly available datasets that are thoroughly analyzed with such issues and are therefore, ready to be used for training models and getting good results. But it is far from how the data is in real world. The datasets that are in raw form and have all such issues cannot be benefited from, without knownig the data cleaning and preprocessing steps.

Such issues may include missing values, noise values or univariate outliers, multivariate outliers, data duplication, improving the quality of data through standardizing and normalizing it, dealing with categorical features. Visualization also happens to be an important tool for manually observing issues in the data.

In this course, we discuss the issues with data coming from different courses and how to resolve them handsomely. Each concept has three components that are theoretical explanation, mathematical evaluation and code. The lectures *.1.* refers to the theory and mathematical evaluation of a concept while the lectures *.2.* refers to the practical code of each concept. All the codes are written in Python using Jupyter Notebook.

Imparerai infatti in modo approfondito il Paradigma Object-Oriented in tutti i suoi aspetti principali, secondo un percorso che ho ricavato dai miei (ahimè) moltissimi anni di esperienza sul campo come object-oriented analyst e designer. Le capacità che acquisirai nelle lezioni teoriche di questa prima sezione sono valide anche per qualunque linguaggio object-oriented, come Python, C#, Swift, C++.

Il corso è poi costituito da due parti. Nella prima parte viene spiegato il linguaggio di programmazione C, partendo da zero, in modo agevole anche per chi ha poca o nessuna esperienza di programmazione. Nella seconda parte, viene invece spiegato in dettaglio il linguaggio di programmazione C++17, come estensione rispetto al linguaggio C introdotto nella prima parte.

Perché dovresti imparare a programmare in C ed in C++?
Prima di tutto, il C è il linguaggio da cui sono stati derivati molti altri linguaggi di programmazione (tra i quali in particolare Java, C++, C#, Swift, Objective-C) che sono in assoluto tra i più usati al mondo: conoscere il C ti consentirà di accedere a questi linguaggi con molta più facilità - e con un livello di approfondimento che non si può ottenere in questi linguaggi senza prima conoscere realmente la sintassi del C.

Inoltre, nonostante il C sia stato introdotto sul mercato alla fine degli anni '70 (!) l'indice TIOBE (il principale indice di misurazione per la diffusione dei linguaggi di programmazione nel mondo) ha eletto proprio il C come linguaggio dell'anno 2017, in quanto è risultato il linguaggio che è cresciuto maggiormente in termine di utilizzo.

Conoscere il linguaggio C, attraverso questo corso, ti consentirà inoltre di apprendere i principali meccanismi della programmazione del software in generale. Inoltre, data la natura stessa del linguaggio, apprenderai anche come avviene la programmazione a "basso livello", cioè al livello in cui diventa importante essere consapevoli dell'architettura delle CPU e della memoria del computer, per ottenere codice ottimizzato ed estremamente performante.

Imparare poi a sviluppare in C++ ti porterà a conoscere e ad utilizzare anche la programmazione object-oriented, ed a padroneggiare uno dei linguaggi di programmazione più potenti al mondo.

Corso rapido per imparare l'uso del software senza perderti in tecnicismi vari.

Questo corso è diverso da quelli che puoi trovare in giro in quanto non ha lo scopo di insegnarti tutte le sfaccettature del software ma piuttosto quello di farti imparare ad usarlo il prima possibile nel modo corretto.

Senza perdersi in tanti tecnicismi e funzioni "inutili", mi sono concentrato nel spiegarti bene le funzioni che sono efficaci nel processo di sviluppo di un'immagine.

Oltre ad imparare a cosa servono i vari strumenti comprenderai anche il modo corretto di fare post-produzione, esattamente con le stesse logiche di applicazione che adotterebbe un fotografo professionista.
