DVD Drive Repair is a useful application that allows you to restore your DVD (Optical) Drive if missing from Windows.

In some instances, it can also help when certain applications do not recognize your drive; mostly when your computer encountered a hardware problem or a virus attack that prevents it from using the DVD Drive. When your DVD Drive is not recognized by Windows even if it is functional, normally you consider reinstalling Windows or restoring it to a previously functional version using System Restore. However, this will not be necessary when using this tool. DVD Drive Repair intends to help you avoid taking radical measures that are consuming and can cost you. Some even attempt to replace the DVD Drive with a new one when these errors occurs.

The interface is very simple and allows you to perform all actions with just a few clicks. You do not have to edit registry keys or go through other complicated settings in order to fix your DVD Drive problems. To repair any DVD Drive errors is Windows, and run the DVD Drive Repair tool. On the main interface, click on the Repair DVD Drive button. Reboot your computer and check to see if your problem is fixed.

DVD Drive Repair can also reset the Autorun settings to default and protect your system from Autorun malware by disabling autorun features for removable drives. It does not remove the threat, but it can help prevent them from infecting the computer by plugging in an infected storage device.

One of the biggest "improvements" that Mozilla claims is the Firefox memory usage, in particular, the vanquishing of memory leaks.

Although Firefox memory usage improved a little over the last few years, it still uses a lot of memory; a little more than I feel comfortable with and for this reason I created Fir. MEMORY LEAKS

We like keeping our apps running for a few days (that's just the way I roll) and because of this Firefox was using over ~800MB of memory after about 3 days. It's quite normal for Firefox to be sucking up over 200MB of memory right off the bat. In a memory leak you'll see the memory usage keep increasing the longer the program is open/in-use and this is exactly what happens with Firefox.

ENTER FIR

Rather than complain about it, we decided to fix it. Enter Fir; simply put, it will attempt to eliminate Firefox memory leaks and decrease the amount of memory Firefox uses. All I did was tweak our Memory Booster a little and applied it to Firefox (including Firefox extensions) and all the memory leaks was gone.

FIR VS. WINDOWS MEMORY MANAGEMENT

Windows will also periodically scan running processes and tell them to release their unused memory. You could argue that this makes Fir unnecessary, and you would be spot on. However, It is my opinion that Windows does not clean out memory as often as I would like it to. Fir runs the clean memory API call a few s per second.

Export project source to HTML site. You can use this to export all the files to HTML versions that contain most of the same syntax formatting you see in Source Insight. This builds a web site that can used to browse the project source code with a web browser.

Browser Mode - Source Insight behaves as a read-only code browser. Simply clicking on identifiers will jump to definitions like in a web browser.
