Elfed Huw Price's work indicates that, although Lawrence was silenced, his Lectures lived on, a contributor to the rising tide of Victorian naturalism, and part of a wider transformation of beliefs and values that swept aside the ancient politico-religious structures of the Confessional State, leaving the cerebral organ standing alongside the soul as the source of human reason and a distinguishing feature of humanity.

Im Anschluss analysiert sie die Voraussetzungen für die Geltung der unterverfassungsrechtlichen Normen in der AWZ. Dieser Teil der Untersuchung schließt mit dem Ergebnis, dass Normen des einfachen Rechts nicht ipso iure gelten, sondern vielmehr einer ausdrücklichen Erstreckungsanordnung bedürfen. Im letzten Abschnitt widmet sich Risch der Bedeutung von Art. 14 und 12 GG sowie der Frage, ob die zivilrechtliche Eigentumsordnung in der AWZ gilt und welche Konsequenzen sich aus der Nichtgeltung für den Anlagenbetreiber und den Gesetzgeber ergeben. Sie kommt zu dem Ergebnis, dass der großflächigen Errichtung von Windparks in der AWZ keine verfassungsrechtlichen Bedenken entgegenstehen, jedoch noch gesetzgeberischer Handlungsbedarf besteht.

MacMillan, who started out as a prospector in the '30s, had developed lucrative mines and put together big deals. But she still wanted "a major discovery." Early in July 1964, shares in Windfall Oil and Mines, a company she and her husband controlled, traded for around 56 cents. Then one day, the stock took off. In the absence of any information from the company about what it had found near Timmins on its claims, rumors and greed pushed the share price to a high of $5.70. MacMillan stayed quiet. Finally, after three weeks, Windfall admitted it had nothing.
So many small investors lost money when the stock crashed that the Ontario government appointed a royal commission to examine what had happened, which led to changes at the Ontario Securities Commission and the Toronto Stock Exchange. Although MacMillan spent a few weeks in prison, she later received a pardon and the Order of Canada.

Wissen erweist sich nicht nur als Macht, sondern im Recht vielfach auch als Last. So knüpft eine Vielzahl von Normen an einen Wissensbestand Rechtsfolgen, nach denen ein Recht in seiner Entstehung, seinem Inhalt oder seiner Durchsetzbarkeit beeinträchtigt wird.Sind Organisationen Adressaten derartiger Wissensnormen, findet sich zuweilen der Volksmund bestätigt, denn "eine Hand weiß nicht, was die andere tut". Diese Problematik stellt sich nicht nur im Zivilrecht, sondern im verstärkten Maße im öffentlichen Recht, das sein Gepräge gerade durch juristische Personen als Akteure erhält. Der rechtsdogmatische Wissensbegriff, der an den Inhalt des Bewusstseins natürlicher Personen anknüpft, stößt an seine Grenzen, je breiter ein Wissen innerhalb einer Organisation "gestreut" ist und je weniger sich dieses im Bewusstsein der Handelnden verorten lässt. Rechtsprechung und Literatur haben sich in der Bewältigung dieser Problematik in komplexe, kasuistische Konstruktionen der Zurechnung von Bewusstseinsinhalten natürlicher Personen auf Organisationen verstrickt. Die so praktizierte Einzelfallgerechtigkeit führt zu Einbußen an Rechtssicherheit.Hier setzt die vorliegende Untersuchung an: Der Autor entwickelt einen neuen, normativen Wissensbegriff zunächst für den öffentlich-rechtlichen Bereich. Dieser wird in objektiven Umständen statt im Bewusstsein natürlicher Personen gegründet. Er kann damit unmittelbar auf Organisationen angewendet werden. Der hier entwickelte Wissensbegriff ermöglicht ohne den Umweg einer Zurechnung eine systematische Lösung von Fällen, in denen die herkömmlichen personenbezogenen Ansätze mangels Vorhandenseins von zurechnungsfähigen Wissensbestandteilen versagen. Zugleich bildet er den Ausgangspunkt zu einer Revision der bisherigen Zurechnungsfiguren.
