solidThinking, Inc. announced the latest version of its solidThinking Evolve software. Evolve is a high quality 3D Hybrid Modeling and Rendering environment that enables industrial designers to evaluate, research and visualize various designs faster than ever before.

solidThinking Evolve enables you to capture an initial sketch, explore styling alternatives, and visualize products with realistic renderings generated in real time. Evolve provides organic surface modeling and parametric control, with NURBS-based surfaces and solids and a unique ConstructionTree history feature. It frees designers from the constraints of engineering-oriented CAD tools, while allowing the export of digital models required by others in the product development process

Evolve 2017 introduces multiple new enhancements including:

- New Planar and Radial Symmetry tools.
- New length parameter for the Line tool and Rounded Polyline tool.
- Improved Curve Offset tool to work directly on surface edges.
- Added Depth Channel on rendered tiff images to create depth of field.
- New and improved import/export for SVG, PDF 2D, DWG, and DXF formats.

- Fixed an issue where the Sweep tool was failing and causing a crash when objects were being edited.
- Fixed an issue causing a crash when creating a bridge using the Edit PolyNURBS tool.
- Fixed an issue causing a crash when importing DXF and DWG files.
- Fixed an issue causing a crash when using Interactive Rendering.
- Fixed an issue where rendering was taking a long time to start and crashing when stopped.
- Fixed an issue where transparent glass was turning black.
- Fixed an issue where CUDA 8 was not working on NVIDIA Pascal video cards.
- Fixed an issue causing incorrect interactive rendering thread priority on NVIDIA cards.
