What's new?:
Pigments 2 comes with a completely new Sample Engine. It provides hundred of interesting sounds, six sample slots to work with, six different playback modes, looping and deep editing capabilities.
Sample Engine has a built in Granular Synthesis mode. This allows for a very deep sampling manipulation by playing around with individual grains. There are many controls to shape the sound such as Density, Envelope, Size and many randomization parameters as well. All of those are possible to modulate within the Mod Matrix, providing the user with another great sound design tool.
The sequencer has a revamped Random mode. It does not permanently overwrite the sequence anymore, instead it adds deviation to the programmed value. Therefore it is possible to go back to a non-random sequence. With a 100% random value, the sequence is completely random, as expected.
Pigments 2 introduces a new LowPass Gate filter mode. It can behave as a VCA, a Filter or both at the same time. The gate can be modulated by the Engine modulators for AM or FM effects. The sound produced is similar to the Buchla Easel Low Pass Gate.
A new Tape Echo effect that is based on the Delay Tape-201 effect from Arturia. Comes with Saturation, delay times untill 1000ms, various sync types: such as Time, Binary Dotted, Triples and Stereo Width as well.

Who doesn't love a good endless runner game? It's the genre that reigns from the early platform games of Donkey Kong and Mario Brothers. From Canabalt to Temple Run to Subway Surfer, this casual game has been the pastime of many a gamer with a mobile device and a few moments to while away. Of course, the scenery can look repetitive, but there's quite a bit of work that goes into creating such a game. The interface has to be constructed with pieces of the environment that can always fit together and be procedurally placed.

You'll start by setting up a character and applying animations in the Unity Mecanim system before writing code to control them. The course gradually takes you through the development of an infinite scrolling 3D world, including the use of the pooling and singleton design patterns. You'll add obstacles such as fire and walls, which the character is programmed to jump over and destroy. You'll then put together a graphical user interface (GUI) in Unity's Canvas system, and learn about alignment, fonts, and screen resolutions. The course will also guide you in programming button presses and sliders and creating pop-up windows. As you advance, you'll explore particle systems for adding special effects for magic spells and explosions. Finally, you'll learn how to add background music and sound effects and understand how to control them from the GUI.

LightWave 3D® 2019.1 brings artist the ability to pull materials apart and build them to your tastes. There is access to Fresnel Functions, Material Components and Material Integrators. The Material Tools Group has been updated with new nodes to support this capability.

OpenVDB Content Creation
LightWave 3D® 2018 introduced the ability to import and render an OpenVDB fog volume. New for LightWave 3D® 2019.1 builds on that with a set of node tools that allow OpenVDB content creation. You can now create OpenVDB grids from meshes, particles, and even the shape primitive distance estimator. Meshes can now be used to create a particle system, with support for collision velocity. The tool kit allows for live Constructive Solid Geometry (CSG) operations, grid filtering including level set tracking, smoothing, dilation and erosion. Solvers are included that allow for fluid simulation and smoke and fire effects.

SCORM is how an eLearning course reports over to a Learning Management System (LMS). If you use a standard eLearning tool like Articulate Storyline or Adobe Captivate, most of the SCORM is already done for you. That works for a lot of situations, but there may be times you want to track content that does not get tracked by default within an authoring tool. Or you may have HTML5 content that was created outside of the authoring tool that you would like tracked.

In this course, Jeff will walk you through how to track any HTML5 content and have it report completion, passed or failed, score, and specific quiz questions to the LMS.
