BETA CAE Systems announces the 20.1.5 release for ANSA/EPILYSIS/META and KOMVOS, hosting numerous fixes in recently detected issues.
Known issues resolved in ANSA
CAD Import/Export
Several cases, related to reading CAD formats, have been successfully combatted, as follows:
- Upon reading Neutral files using CoreTechnologie libraries, PID from Layers would not be correctly generated.
- Referencing CATIA Translators, 3D Point entities would be erroneously disregarded, when "Read features" mode was activated.
- When using ANSA Translator, the import of STEP files was susceptible to missing unit changes, encountered in assemblies designed in mixed units.
Compare
Time required for the creation of the Compare Report and the size of the generated METADBs are now significantly reduced.
Indicatively, in small models of ∼40 parts, the execution time has been reduced from ∼12min to ∼3min and the generated METADBs size from ∼400MB to ∼9MB. In large models of ∼400 parts, the reduction is even more impressive in the generated METADBs size, from an excess of 15GB to less than 100MB, executed in ∼47min in total.
FE Representations
The realization of SPIDER2 Representation could fail in case of nearby attached solids, whereas the treatment of non-circular BOLT holes would not be successfully applied.
Volume Mesh
Unexpected termination could occur when the function Structured Mesh > Extrude [Revolute] produced more than one volumes, according to connectivity, PID, or part of the source area.
Checking Mesh [Void Areas], areas at locations of hanging edge between a warped quad shell/facet and the two corresponding tria shells/facets are not identified as Void Areas anymore.
Deck Tools
Unexpected termination could occur upon Units Conversion in a database containing 3D Points.
Safety
Differences between CNCAP and KNCAP with EuroNCAP are now taken into account for Car Marking in the Pedestrian tool.
Morph
The robustness of Direct Morphing DFM functionality has been fortified, in cases of geometry with poor underlying surface quality.
Known issues resolved in EPILYSIS
General
Unexpected termination could occur when GPSTRESS was requested on fluid elements upon Output, and when a DRESP2 would reference a DRESP2 with higher ID in SOL200.
Known issues resolved in META
Decks - Fluent
Reading times of Fluent .dat result files have been significantly improved and META can now read multiple states of .h5 format for transient analysis. Furthermore, META is no longer terminating while reading "Volume Fraction" scalar results of Fluent .cdat files.
Decks - TAITherm
META would unexpectedly terminate, upon auto-detection of TAITherm files.
NVH Calculators - FRF Assembly
In certain cases where Linear Combination nodes were used as responses, calculations could be incorrect since v20.1.0, depending on the included loadcases.
Project Files & METADB
After loading a Project File, META displayed the list of all available results, besides the ones saved. In addition, Set IDs were not successfully saved in Project Files.
File Export
Unexpected termination could occur when exporting in 3DXML format.
User Toolbars
In the Crash & Safety domain, Occupant Injury Criteria Toolbar now efficiently offers C-NCAP 2021 Rating, whereas Haigh Diagram was not successfully created for user created states, under the respective Haigh Diagram Toolbar.
Enhancements and known issues resolved in KOMVOS
Input Model Definition
Input Model Definition would not work for CATProduct files, ProE files or JT format trees.
Compatibility and Supported Platforms
ANSA files saved by all the first and second point releases of a major version are compatible to each other. New major versions can read files saved by previous ones but not vice versa.
META Project files saved from version 20.1.5 are compatible and can be opened by META version 16.0.0 or later. To be readable by META versions earlier than v16.0.0, they have to be saved selecting the option "Version 16.0.0" or "Version <16.0.0".
Support for Mac OS has been discontinued.Support for 32-bit platform has been discontinued for all operating systems.

Graphic Requirements
Upon v20.1.0, the minimum graphic requirements for ANSA and META are: AMD or NVIDIA GPU with at least 1GB of video memory and OpenGL 3.3 support.
In case of unsupported hardware in Windows or Linux, ANSA and META will automatically fall back to software rendering using Mesa LLVM rasterizer pipeline. Additionally, Mesa can be manually activated.

Reboot detection
Most installers can signal to the operating system that a reboot is needed to complete the installation. With this tool, you can map an exit code from the wrapped installer to make the MSI package signal the need for a reboot.
Batch mode and build script integration
Building your MSI package can be automated. This is useful if you are a software developer and want to integrate the MSI Wrapper in your build scripts.
System requirements:
This tool requires Microsoft.NET Framework 4.0 on the machine where you build the MSI. If you don't have that already, you can get it through Windows Update. Microsoft.NET is not required on the machine that runs the MSI.

Whether you're interested in decluttering the hard drive to make room for new data by eliminating unnecessary files, or in finding your information faster by renaming files, it's necessary to organize your files and folders. This can be difficult without the aid of appropriate tools, especially if you want to be able to perform operations on multiple files at the same time.
WinExt Batch Operator can be of assistance in this case. It's a Windows application capable of creating a list of handpicked files and folders from various parts of your computer, which can be deleted, renamed or moved to other locations. The program can also edit file properties, such as attributes.
Move to Recycle Bin
Select some unnecessary files / folders, and then click the same icon to move them to system Recycle Bin at once. If you carelessly delete the needful resources, you can recover them from system Recycle Bin.
Permanently Delete
Click this icon to permanently delete the selected files / folders in batch mode. Be careful, the deleted resources cannot be 100% recovered for most PC users.
Copy / Move to Other Place
Click the corresponding icon to perform the bulk copying or moving action for the selected files / folders. WEBO will guide you to select a target place for copying or moving operation.

Tabbed Projects
Run two or more projects side by side in separate tabs, whether it's two schema compare projects on completely separate servers or a schema compare and data compare project on the same server.

Group Projects
You can assign each project to a project groups making organizing your projects easier. You can place all your data compare projects into a data group. Place a specific server group of projects under one group.
Straight Forward Compare
Comparing two databases is quick and easy. In a new project select your source database target then your target database and click to run your schema compare.
SQL Delta shows an overview of all the objects that are different or not in either the source or target. By selecting each object you can see at the schema level the various differences.
Comprehensive Project Options
Each schema compare project has a range of options to reduce discovery common differences. For example objects constraints with system names are usually different between source and target and these can be ignored.
Schema Mapping
For some projects your target schema names (owners) are different to your source schema names. Each compare project has the option to map source schema names to target schema names.
SQL Delta can then optionally automatically change the definitions to use the correct schema name. For example your source database uses "dbo" and your target uses "prod" as the schema name for all objects. Simply map dbo to prod and any script changes will ensure the target object is prod.object instead of dbo.object.
