What's new in Windows 8.1?
Faster boot

The Start button returns to the desktop. Simply swipe or click to access the Home screen. Or if you prefer, you can now go directly to the desktop as soon as you turn it on, use the same background on the Home screen on your desktop and see all your apps at once with the new viewer apps.

Search everywhere

Bing now incorporates an intelligent search thanks to you with one search'll get multiple results, both Internet and among your files, settings and apps on your PC. You'll be able to act on the results instantly. Listen to a song, call a friend, opens an app or visit your favorite website. Just search and beam. (Some features are not available in some countries.)

8.1 WHAT'S NEW IN WINDOWS UPDATE 1

What's New in Update 1 is that if you have a team without any touch input on the display the operating system starts by default in the classic desktop, which we have seen in previous leaks but today is being confirmed.

It also includes an off button that will appear on the home screen for PCs that do not have a touchscreen, and also accompanied by a search button that appears regardless of the hardware on which the operating system we have installed.

Hence there have been changes in the interface of the "Metro" applications because in those computers equipped with keyboard and mouse appear in each application bar at the top with options to minimize, close or make "snap". In the bar touch devices only appear if we superimpose the cursor on top of the application.

WHAT ABOUT THE NEW UPDATE 2

Hence, the famous "Update 2" Windows 8.1 is really just updating August, being at the same level it was updating May that brought developments in the Windows Store, or June that incorporated more options OneDrive synchronization (it is implied, therefore, we can expect more updates such for the rest of the lifecycle of Windows 8.1).

But what developments specifically provides this update August? First, 3 settings for using touchpads in notebooks are added: leave the touchpad working to connect a mouse, allowing right-click, and allow double tap and then dragging. Apparently these options may be turned on and off from the Control Panel. We know that many manufacturers already included controls such as these, but it never hurts to be incorporated directly into Windows.

It also adds support for using the PC as Miracast receiver natively. And finally, SharePoint Online users now have the option of keeping logged to access SharePoint sites, thus preventing the system asks you to enter your username and password again and again.

WHAT ABOUT THE NEW UPDATE 3 (November Roll Up)

The package for Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 November 2014 solves problems and includes improvements in performance and reliability. It is recommended that you apply this update rollup as part of regular maintenance routines. See the bugs fixed in this update. Also note that there is a prerequisite and a requirement of reinicioPara apply this update.

Improvements and New Features
This package includes the following new features and enhancements:

Updated language packs
Security and defense in depth reinforcement Schannel
Compatibility with newer hardware (boot order allocation, improvements SD card, USB debugging)
Improve Web services support devices (WSD) printer for network switches
Improvement of performance and reliability in mission-critical environments clustered virtual machine
Improved Manageability
Additional hardware support (devices with disk encryption software may enable third party can now upgrade to Windows 8.1 easier)
This update package November also includes all previous updates from the update of the previous image in April 2014. It is one right step for Windows clients and servers updated. Unlike the April update, the set of updates for November is not necessary to continue receiving security or other updates. However, we strongly recommend that is implemented in Windows clients and servers to take advantage of these new features and enhancements as well as preventing many known issues that have been resolved since April recommend. This update has been extensively tested at the same level of quality that our previous service packs. However, unlike service packs, this update changes the version number and not discard or change any of the API so that it would require recertification.
