React Native is a popular Javascript framework that builds on top of React by using native components to create a real mobile app indistinguishable from one made using Xcode or Android Studio. The main difference with native development is that you get to use CSS, hot-reload, Javascript and other familiar techniques that the Web grown over the past decades. Most importantly, you're building for both iOS and Android using the same codebase.

About this Course
This is a course made for designers, by a designer, focused on UI, animations and a workflow that starts with the design tool. The code and pace was made to be easy to follow. Every step is visual and can be followed with ease. You can take this course without any programming experience, but having some CSS and HTML knowledge definitely helps you to navigate the complexity of some concepts. The design file in InVision Studio (free), project assets and React Native source code are shared so that you can compare against your own progress.

Description
Master the art of building a highly scalable real world project using MERN Stack for a new startup that will scale infinitely. I will demonstrate how you could launch a project that will have a solid architecture to grow in future to be used by potentially millions of users.

Tech stack

We will be using React and NextJS (React Framework) in the client side.

We will build an API/server using Node Express MongoDB.

We will use AWS services such as S3 for files storage, SES for sending emails and EC2 for cloud hosting IAM for Identity and access management Route 53 for domain management along with custom rules/policy.

We will use Mongo Atlas as Managed Database Service in the cloud.

What we will build?

Build a startup project inspired by a successful real world app (discussed more in the lectures) where multiple users can login and post/manage contents they submit.

While building similar project, we will add few improvements to make it infinitely scalable and easier to maintain

Aim for low cost of operation and implement some functionalities to make much easier, fun and engaging for users to use.

Aim of the project

Target millions of potentials users to use and engage with our app

Users could be anyone.. who finds a course, video or articles online... likes it and wants to share

The links they share will also be available in their dashboard for update/delete

A user could be someone who is a content creator like me... instructors, youtubers, blog and tutorial writers, book authors etc

Users will signup/signin to our app to post/share/like the links/urls

Users will do this to get free traffic... to get people's attention... sharing links for free

Overview of the project

Login/Register System

Need a MongoDB that scale infinitely. We will use Mongo Atlas for this requirement.

Need a massive storage system that scale infinitely to store user uploaded image files. We will use AWS S3 (Simple Storage Service) for this requirement.

You never have to worry about how to manage millions of user uploaded files... let AWS take care of that! S3 pricing is the lowest in the market for storing infinite amount of data that is readily available worldwide throughout AWS data centers globally.

Need robust email service for sending emails for hundreds of thousands of users. We will use AWS SES (Simple Email Service) for this requirement.

You never have to worry about how to send email to millions and pay higher price ... let AWS take care of that! their rate of SES is the lowest in the market.

We will be using AWS EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) for hosting our backend NodeJS API and React/Next JS frontend, all within one instance.

Keep the cost as low as possible by using AWS services for storage, email and hosting.

The biggest issues of scaling web apps are storage and database scaling. That part will be handled by AWS. So we as a developer don't have to worry.

Our aim is to enable just 1 or 2 developer to maintain the entire project and continuously grow in future.

Clean simple and easy to maintain project architecture

Extremely simple architecture that is easy to maintain and scale

Separate backend API and frontend built with react/nextjs for easy development, code maintenance and deployment

Keep the frontend as simple as possible

Scenario 1 > You create a page in react to do certain task. For example it fetch the data from your API/Server and put that data on the web page for user to see. Job done.

Scenario 2 > You create admin page to create a new post. For example to post the data to your API/Server and show the returned response of either success or error. Job done.

Keep the backend API as simple as possible

Scenario 1 > You have a GET route. For example '/api/posts'. You will receive a request from react/frontend for getting all posts from database.

You pass this request to a controller method. Controller method/function will make a query to database, get all posts and return back to react/frontend. Job done.

Scenario 2 > You have a POST route. For example '/api/create/post'. You will receive data from react/frontend to create a new post. You pass that data to a controller method.

Controller method/function will save that data in database and return the success response, which will be sent back to react. Job done.

This is the logic of our app or basically any web app out there. The cycle of requests/responses. Request from frontend, Response from server.

Test with Go is broken into two major sections: Lessons and Projects

Put together, the lessons and projects span 173 videos and total over 33 hours of content.

In the lessons we focus on learning the techniques necessary to test our applications. We will learn the basics, like how to write your first test and what table driven testing is, but we will also cover more advanced testing techniques like:

Testing race conditions
Dependency injection
Mocks, stubs, and fakes

We will spend some time using small, isolated examples in order to learn each technique, but those will gradually become more realistic as you become familiar with testing. We will see first-hand how to separate your integration and unit tests, allowing you to write tests for an API client that can both be run locally and online with the real API. We will even look at how to export some of those helper functions, making it easier for others who use your libraries to write tests.

For beginners: It is recommended that you have some knowledge of how to use a chosen video editing program. However, there are a lot of video editing techniques explored that do not require you to follow along with the class project.

You would like to brush up on your knowledge of video editing techniques, maybe you are aware of some of them but are open to seeing them from a new perspective? This is also a great way to practice and experiment with the project's footage and/or follow along with your own project and apply what you learn!
What do you need before taking this class?

You can watch these lessons, take notes and learn a lot! However, having access to a video editing program and applying the learned techniques to the class project or your own project is a great way to internalize what you learn in a deeper way. I use premiere pro to demonstrate these techniques, and recommend using premiere but don't be shy if you prefer to use a different editing program altogether. These lessons can be applied to any video editing software and any project you might be currently working on.

Trigonometry is a set of 10 videotapes that cover all of a typical high-school trig course. Assuming the classroom teacher makes it all the way through the book-most don't. The courde is subtitled "A Graphing Approach" and you can purchase an optional reference text by that name, e.g., Trigonometry: A Graphing Approach, written by Larson, Hostetler, and Edwards, and published by D.C. Heath. Your video instructor is Dana Mosely, a man with over 15 years classroom teaching experience and 8 years' experience as D.C. Heath's video instructor in mathematics.

As always, he divides his time between addressing you directly and drawing on and pointing to the blackboard. When possible, grids are prepared in advance, so no time is wasted watching him set up the black board. Mr. Mosely's sine curves are just as beautiful as his straight lines-unlike other instructors, his blackboard work is a joy to watch. He also is clearly comfortable with the topic, to the point of calling sine function values "these rascals here." No stuffy, unintelligible mystique here!

The tapes on this trig course are mostly longer than those in other Chalk Dust courses. Tape 1, "Prerequisites," is almost 4 hours long. It goes from a lecture on the real number system, through graphing in the Cartesian plane, to inverse functions. Tape 2 is a whopping 4 hours and 26 minutes, and covers measurements in radians and degrees, basic trig functions as they relate to unit circles/right triangles/any angle, graphing trig functions and inverse trig functions, and trig applications. The remaining videotapes cover "additional topics in trigonometry," complex numbers, exponential and logarithmic functions, and topics in analytic geometry. This is where you get into the fun stuff, such as parabolas, ellipses, hyperbolas, and polar coordinates.

As you may have surmised, to many students, trig is deadly stuff. Only future engineers and scientists really enjoy trig, or even half-understand it at the pace it's presented in class. These videos, each tape of which corresponds to a chapter in the reference text, are just the help a struggling trig student can use.
