What's New in Autodesk Netfabb: March 2018 Release (version 2018.3):

With the latest release of Netfabb (2018.3) all tiers will notice improvements to the core functionality and user experience, as well as updates to the Simulation, PowerShape, and Advanced Toolpath Utilities.

- Simulation is now available within Autodesk Netfabb.
We're proud to announce that Netfabb Ultimate subscribers now have access to a more powerful solution with the addition of Simulation capabilities. Netfabb Ultimate customers can now run limited-complexity simulations locally with a lightweight interface designed to simulate the additive process of parts within metal powder bed fusion printers. Additionally, both Netfabb Premium & Ultimate subscribers have the option to run simulations of models of unlimited complexity on the Autodesk Cloud.
- Tech Preview - Simulation Driven Support Structures
Instead of manually modifying the support structures after simulation, you can now thicken up supports with a density map. To calculate density map information, simply load the mechanical results from Netfabb Local Simulation and select or define formulas to convert them into the actual density map values.
- Convert Tessellated Models to Solid CAD Files
Netfabb now has the ability to convert free form mesh files to solid CAD models. This allows you to edit the converted file in CAD, or save it to your data management system.
- Workspace for FormLabs Form 2
A new workspace for the Formlabs Form 2 desktop 3d printer is now available in Netfabb Standard, with access to SLA supports, lattice assistant and a perforation tool. Formlabs' software comes with its own functionality: Repair, Scale, Orient, Support. The Form 2 workspace in Netfabb adds Lattice Assistant and the Perforation tool to help users save material - on top of the full Netfabb Standard functionality.

Microsoft's new file system ReFS (Resilient File System) is supported together with Windows 2012 Server OS.

Starting from the version 4.5, R-Undelete creates an image and simultaneously scans the data being copied. The program creates two files stored in the same place: an image file and a file with the scan info. The upgraded file viewer supports the additional file formats including Adobe Acrobat pdf, Microsoft Office documents doc, xls, ppt (Office 97-2003), docx, xlsx, pptx. A new, faster, and more robust algorithm for Known File Types scanning and FAT file system processing has been implemented. The algorithm is adapted to multi-core processing and prevents the program from freezing and crashing in a critical situation.

About NI Device Drivers 2018 version 18.5. Driver versions are now aligned with the versions of major NI application software products. This alignment gives you information about the year the driver was released and the most recent software version with which the driver was designed to work. Driver versions now start with a two-digit year indicator. For example, NI-DAQmx 14.0.0 is the version released with LabVIEW 2014. The last version released under the old numbering scheme is NI-DAQmx 9.9. The first version released under the new numbering scheme is NI-DAQmx 14.0.0.

About NI LabView. LabVIEW (Laboratory Virtual Instrument Engineering Workbench) is a graphical programming language that uses icons instead of lines of text to create applications. In contrast to text-based programming languages that use instructions to determine the order of program execution, LabVIEW uses dataflow programming. VIs, or virtual instruments, are LabVIEW programs that imitate physical instruments.
