Patent-Pending Machine Learning at GRAPHISOFT

Machine Learning is a branch of computer science that utilizes statistical methods to learn with "data" without being directly told (explicit instructions) what to do through programming. In GRAPHISOFT's patent-pending case, it appears the company has developed an ML algorithm that statistically optimizes how to intelligently utilize multiple cores of a computer's CPU. These cores are smartly anticipating the needs of the user when panning, zooming, and navigation.

This new Machine Learning (ML) technique builds on GRAPHISOFT's prior work in the area of Predictive Background Processing by trying to guess intelligently what the user is going to do next and preparing them in the background. A video shown below explains these technologies in a side-by-side comparison of AC 21 and AC 22.

Other New Features:
ARCHICAD 22 features a brand new Expression Defined Properties capability. By using mathematical expressions in interrogating data (or information) in BIM, ARCHICAD 22 powers up the meaning of "I" in BIM by allowing users to solve for information in new ways across the BIM. For example, it's possible to solve for the actual number of bricks in a building. It is possible to solve for items not just in counts, lineal dimensions, areas, and volumes but also by angular units.

ARCHICAD 22 also utilizes the latest CineRender engine from sister company Maxon (R19) for improved rendering qualities and faster render output, but also for creating stereoscopic or 360-degree spherical renderings.

Teamwork experiences are improved due to a faster element reservation, and an improvement has been made to exporting building component information from composite skins and complex profiles using OPEN BIM standards. These are the highlight new features in ARCHICAD 22 but there are many more.

Among other things, today's update fixes a couple of display issues. If you have ever seen blank lines in the main song table-this update is for you. In general, beaTunes will feel a little faster and scrolling around in huge lists should be more responsive. Also related to graphics: the choice of GPU (graphics adapter) on OS X. There really is no reason why beaTunes should use the high performance GPU. Thanks to a recent Java update (8u92), beaTunes is now able to request the integrated GPU instead of the high performance one, resulting in lower power consumption. And as beaTunes comes bundled with a Java runtime, there is no need for you to update your system's Java to get this feature.

Another important bug fix deals with Album Replay Gain. Because the beaTunes analysis queue processes multiple tracks in parallel and independently, computing Album Replay Gain is a little like dealing with a pink, spotted elephant: All tracks for an album have to be loaded, analyzed and the metadata has to be written, while another analysis thread may already work on one of those files. Compared to all other values beaTunes computes, this is a big exception and requires some extra synchronization logic. For 4.6.1, this logic has been completely rewritten.

DBConvert/ DBSync for MSSQL and PostgreSQL cross database migration software helps to convert and synchronize your database from Microsoft SQL Server to PostgreSQL / Amazon RDS PostgreSQL / Heroku Postgres and in any other possible combination of source and target . As well, Windows Azure SQL Databases may be set up as source or target. Programs are able to connect to any local or remote MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL instances.

Although both MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases are ANSI-SQL compliant, there are still differences between their SQL syntax, data types, case sensitivity, and it makes transferring data not so trivial if you try to do that manually.
The whole database can be copied from a MS SQL Server database to a PostgreSQL database or you can specify partial set of data in customization stage for migration.

Automated Floor Layout and Optimization for Complete Building Systems. RISAFloor designs floor systems and works hand in hand with RISA-3D and RISAFoundation to provide a more complete structural engineering software solution for building design. RISAFloor will manage loads, design beams and columns, create quality CAD drawings, and automatically delivers RISA-3D the information that it needs for the design of lateral systems.

RISAFloor gives you the ability to design steel, concrete, cold-formed steel, masonry, aluminum and timber all in one model while RISAFloor ES allows you to also design two-way concrete slabs within a multi-material building.
Working on one model, RISAFloor does all of the bookkeeping, letting you move seamlessly between RISAFloor and RISA-3D. Ham Radio Deluxe is structured to support most HF / VHF / UHF amateur radio transceivers and receivers. It currently supports ICOM, Yaesu, Elecraft, FlexRadio, Ten-Tec and Kenwood.
