66-Basses is the first creation in our new Legion Series - an instrument line dedicated to solving specific needs in epic cinematic music. 66-Basses is all about professional cinematic bass. We gathered a 66-piece symphonic double bass ensemble in our favorite modern recording hall, Zlin. The ensemble was created by uniting professional bass players from 9 different countries in Europe.

A life-time opportunity and all the players gave it their absolute best in these sessions. It shows.

66-Basses contains all common articulations (Sustains Types, Short Notes, Arcs, Effects, Note-Bends etc) and a large set of new articulations (Dynamic Waves, Tuning Clusters, BPM-based Ostinatos, Bridge FX etc).

We also spend the better of a month on 50 uniquely crafted analog synth ensembles. The library features 10 different microphones, including a new Binural microphone that gives you a sonic VR experience of the sessions. 4 Hall-Based microphones (Mixed, Decca, Far and Wide) and 5 intimate close Spot microphones for more detailed sound.

66-Basses also features a new 3D-rendered UI with a new 4-part modulation engine and a whole special section of BPM-based Ostinatos.

66-Basses cost us over $70.000 to produce and is the first of several in our Legion series. It is the dream of cinematic basses resolved. Rich, Warm and Fulfulling.

66-Basses
66-Basses contains the largest symphonic bass ensemble ever recorded. A once in a life-gathering of 66 professional double bass players - in a large, modern concert hall. We removed all chairs and baffles in the hall - to maximize the reverbation, which goes over 3 seconds. It is the same hall we used for Majestica, Lacrimosa, Acoustic Grand Ensembles, CAGE and many other instruments.

9 Microphones and 1 Binural
The library contains 10 different microphone positions, including our new Binural Microphone. The Neumann Binural microphones offers you 100% life-like recordings from the sessions. The Binural mic was placed near the conductor, so you hear it from his perspective. The library also includes 4-Hall Microphones (Decca, Mixed, Far, Wide) and 5 close Spot Microphones.

Rich, Warm and Deep Articulations
66-Basses is rich and phat in its sound. The same goes for its deep-sampled articulations (ex. Sustains, Marcato, Several Arcs, Tremolos, De/Crescendo FX, Spiccato, Bartok, Pizzicato, Bending/Glissandi FX etc) and new unconventional articulations (ex. Dynamic Waves, Tuning Clusters, Bridge FX, Arcs with Bending Notes, Octave Drops) and everything in between. Depth in every way.

50 Custom Analog Synth Ensemble
Cinematic Basses are often augmented with carefully placed analog synths. The synths help boost the subwoofer regions of cinematic basses and creates a gorgeous warmth underneath the 66-Basses. We programmed and sampled an array of analog synths and created 50 synth ensembles in the library. The stack function allows you to merge as many synths as you want. Phatness forever.

4-Part Modulation Engine
66-Basses also includes our new 4-part modulation engine for extreme sample and effects work. The 4 modulation engines each contain their own X/Y Matrix grid - and you can assign an FX parameter to both the X/Y value. In addition powerful functions like reverse and stack is only a click away. Stack allows you to play several articulations at the same time. Highly useful for synth presets.

Our Legion Series is a collection of Extreme Cinematic Ensembles including our 66-Basses, 66-Tubas and now our 66-Trombones. This instrument line is dedicated to solving specific needs in modern epic cinematic music. Legion Series: 66-Trombones is a never-before sampled ensemble of symphonic trombones, be inspired by its rich textures and unique range of timbres.

The library, recorded in our favorite oval-shaped concert hall 'Zlin' is designed to blend beautifully with our other Legion Series, creating a brilliant low-end sound. The sheer size of this ensemble allows the lower dynamics to remain incredibly detailed and perfectly balanced, even while playing quietly you can hear the rich texture of the group.

Legion Series 66-Trombones is an incredibly versatile library, with its rich and warm legato, a large and colorful low-end, bright fortissimo sustains, punchy shorts and effects. 'Epic' is the only word you need to describe this instrument.

Deep-Sampled Articulations
66-Trombones contains a large set of common articulations including nine different types of sustains, four different styles of natural legatos and nine different ranges of dynamic arcs, all extending from soft and delicate to majestic and loud. We also included aggressive and punchy staccatos, which can be either played one-shot or rhythmically synced. With an ensemble this size, we wanted to capture a set of unique articulations including massive bends, rips, and crescendos, as well as different styles of clusters and arcs.

Precisely Recorded
Being a once in a lifetime opportunity, we needed to capture the group with great precision. To do this we included eight microphone positions strategically adjusted to capture the ensemble's intensity from all angles. We used the standard Decca Tree used in all of our libraries as well as a pair of Far and Wide microphones to capture the beautiful Zlin Hall. We also used five strategically-placed Spot microphones so you can isolate a particular group of players, or use them in any combination of creative ways. Finally, we included two styles of custom in-house mixes including a 'Clean Mix' of all of the microphones and a dedicated 'Trailer Mix' for an upfront and epic brass sound.

Comprehensive Controls
Our Legion Series contains a comprehensive array of intuitive controls. You can instantly stack and combine as many articulations as you want. Reverse any sound with a single click, adjust the speed, pitch, and sample offset with just a touch of a dial. Everything is quick, easy and intuitive, so you can concentrate on what is important - the music.

4-Part Modulation Engine
Legion Series 66-Trombones also includes our new four-part Effects Engine for extreme sound processing. Each of the four effect modules contains an X/Y Matrix grid, with X/Y parameters that can be assigned to any of the settings and mapped to any MIDI CC. So you have total control over the CHAOS. The familiar Legion UI also includes Sequencer and Modulation tabs which give further options to manipulate the samples and create even more CHAOS.

66-Tubas is the second creation in our Legion Series - an instrument line dedicated to solving specific needs in epic cinematic music. 66-Tubas is all about professional cinematic Tuba. We gathered a 66-piece symphonic Tuba ensemble in our favourite modern recording hall, Zlin.

The ensemble was created by uniting professional Tuba players from 13 different countries in Europe. A life-time opportunity and all the players gave it their absolute best in these sessions. It shows.

66-Tubas contains all common articulations (Sustains Types, Short Notes, Arcs, Effects, Note-Bends etc) and a large set of new articulations (Dynamic Waves, Tuning Clusters, BPM-based Ostinatos, Bridge FX etc).

The library features 10 different microphones, including a new Trailer Mix microphone that offers you the most upfront and aggressive microphone setting. 4 Hall-Based microphones (Mixed, Decca, Far and Wide) and 5 intimate close Spot microphones for more detailed sound.

66-Tubas also features a new 3D-rendered UI with a new 4-part modulation engine and a whole special section of BPM-based Ostinatos.

66-Tubas cost us over $82.000 to produce and is the second of several in our Legion series. It is the dream of super cinematic brass fulfilled. Strong, Warm and Deep.

66-Tubas
66-Tubas contains the largest symphonic Tuba ensemble ever recorded. A once in a life-gathering of 66 professional Tubas players - in a large, modern concert hall. We removed all chairs and baffles in the hall - to maximize the reverberation, which goes over 3 seconds. It is the same hall we used for Majestica, Lacrimosa, Acoustic Grand Ensembles, CAGE and many other instruments.

9 Microphones and 1 Binural
The library contains 10 different microphone positions, including new Trailer Mix microphone, which offer the most aggressive combination of microphone settings. It was designed to make your mixes strong in an instant. The library also includes 4-Hall Microphones (Decca, Mixed, Far, Wide) and 5 Close Spot Microphones.

Rich, Warm and Deep Articulations
66-Tubas is warm, big, deep and beautiful. It contains a rich set of deep-sampled articulations (Ex. True Legato, Many Arcs, Several Sustain Types, Trills, Flutter Tongue, Crescendos and Decrescendos, Staccato, Marcatos, Sforzando) and several categories of new articulations (Ex. Half and Wholte-Note Bends, Clusters, Rips, Dynamic Waves and Cluster Waves, Growls, Tuba Singing) and everything in between. Rich depth in everything.

4-Part Modulation Engine
66-Tubas also includes our new 4-part modulation engine for extreme sample and effects work. The 4 modulation engines each contain their own X/Y Matrix grid - and you can assign an FX parameter to both the X/Y value. In addition powerful functions like reverse and stack is only a click away. Stack allows you to play several articulations at the same time. Highly useful for synth presets.
