- Ensured that the Thermal Re-Emission boundary conditions always reflect particles rather than transmitting them, when applied to interior boundaries.

- Allowed nonuniform weighting of model particles released by the Space Charge Limited Emission node.

BUG FIXES IN 2021.1.0
This section lists issues that have been resolved since the last version of Geomagic Wrap:
- GWR-600:The Convert to Points created a "TEST" object in the model manager. A point object is now created with the mesh's name.
- GWR-608:The first parameter in 3DCompare macro did not work properly.
- GWR-939:The application crashed while using the Auto Surfacing command.
- GWR-943:When using the Fill Holes command, combined objects were not selected properly.
- GWR-1014:The application would crash when entering the Defeature command for a specific file.
- GWR-1025, GWR-1096:The application kept crashing when saving a NURBS object in AMF(ASCII) format. AMF file format is no longer supported as of Wrap 2021, but this is now replaced by 3MF file.
- GWR-1060:The Edit Sketch did not work on planar curves.
- GWR-1070:The application crashed or hung during using the Define UV tool.
- GWR-1085:The Flattering option in the Define UV would fail to create a proper UV if using it with an iso-curve.
- GWR-1088:Python modules failed to install due to incorrect Path and location of the pyd files.
- GWR-1097:The application crashed when using the ComputeVertexDeviations modifier in the script.
- GWR-1114:Scripts reacted differently depending on Wrap Language Setting.
- GWR-1115:When applying a Python3 macro to a mesh, ValueError would occur depending on Wrap Language Setting.
- GWR-1137:The Batch Process generated a file format different from the one specified in the Save Files option.
- GWR-1139:Output would not display in the Output window.
- CFS-1907uring the installation, a blue screen occurred and this caused Windows to crash and stop working.

Contact with the new world
In August 2018, we released MeshFree 1.0 with slight changes to the existing CAE technology. Smaller technological changes that are freer to create meshes have innovatively overcome FEM-based technical limitations that have occupied the CAE market for more than half a century. MeshFree leads the change in the CAE process in the design stage, which allows design engineers to perform analysis by themselves using the beautiful model prototypes designed by design engineers to verify the performance of design products and perform optimal design. In MeshFree 2021 R1, to establish itself as a more reliable partner, the ease of use has been strengthened, and efforts have been made for continuous improvement to improve reliability.

Add self-contact function


In defining the general contact included in the nonlinear behavior, the user selects the master surface and the slave surface so that the two surfaces cannot penetrate each other. However, for a phenomenon in which contact occurs within a single part or a single surface due to large deformation of the structure, the user cannot define the contact by dividing the primary contact surface and the subordinate contact surface to track whether the faces pass through each other. The self-contact function makes it easy to define the contact surface, but the analysis time can be greatly increased.

The addition of orthotropic material


Orthotropic materials are materials whose material properties are symmetric about three perpendicular planes. In midas MeshFree, you can use orthotropic materials for 3D shape elements. Orthotropic materials express their properties for the major axis of the material, and the stress-strain relationship for a three-dimensional stress state is as follows.


Improved multi-step result function
For nonlinear static analysis, dynamic analysis (transient response, frequency response, random response), and transient heat transfer analysis, analysis results are output in multiple steps according to the magnitude of the load, time, or frequency change. The frequency response result, point value, and reaction force function output as a multi-step result (table or graph) have been improved to use it more intuitively and simply. Tables and graphs that were previously output based on step number are all output based on step values.


CAD interface Update


Support for the latest version of the CAD interface may be delayed depending on the supplier's update environment. If the newest version is not supported, please convert it to a neutral file such as Parasolid or STEP file format. We will do our best to reflect on the latest version of CAD quickly.


midas MeshFree is a cutting-edge design and analysis technology developed through the collaboration with SAMSUNG Electronics. It performs simulation of the original model you have designed without any modification. Conventional FEM required tedious and time consuming model idealization and cleanup process. midas MeshFree performs analysis based on Implicit Boundary Method. General meshless method calculates deformation at the position of nodes only. Accuracy of the analysis result depends on the density of nodes. Also additional calculation of stress is required after creating internal elements. Therefore it requires large amount of memory and calculation time.

However midas MeshFree solves a problem with the identical method as FEA using 20 nodes-Hexa element structural grid. In addition it calculates results in boundary surfaces with the special integralformula. Therefore it is possible to analyze a problem faster with low usage of memory comparing to the general meshless method.

It is possible to start the simulation immediately after installation. 3-step intuitive workflow makes it easy for anyone to use. It will minimize the learning time and enable you to verify the working design model in a short time. Now, design engineers can quickly verify the performance of a model at the design stage. Altair SimLab is a process-oriented multidisciplinary simulation environment to accurately analyze the performance of complex assemblies. Multiple physics including structural, thermal and fluid dynamics can be easily setup using highly automated modeling tasks, helping to drastically reduce the time spent creating finite element models and interpreting results.
