In this approach, the recordings of a real vibrato play an important role, as they are always more inspiring and organic than adding an artificial vibrato.

Articulations, Patches & True Legato
Emotional Cello was created from well over 100 articulations and their variants. By means of an elaborate and intelligent script, countless articulations are linked together in a meaningful way so that they follow the playing style of the user.

The library contains three master patches, including the "Emotional Cello", the "Sulponticello" and the "Harmonic Cello". These contain most of the recorded articulations, which logically interlock and provide an elegantly aligned sound, thanks to „True Legato". Three different transition types have been captured in several sessions and simulate, among other things, realistic changes in bowing direction or passionate portamento while playing. The user simply controls the velocity - the tempo of the tone transitions automatically adapts to your DAW!

Contextual Sampling
As with the other instruments from the Emotional series, the Munich-based developers decided to stay true to their concept of contextual sampling in which all samples are always recorded in a musical context to capture the natural bowing and expressiveness of real instrumentalists. In this approach, the recordings of a real vibrato play an important role, as they are always more inspiring and organic than adding an artificial vibrato.

Articulations, Patches & True Legato
Emotional Viola was created from well over 50 articulations and their variants. By means of an elaborate and intelligent script, countless articulations are wisely linked together, so that they follow the user's style of playing.

The Emotional Viola Master Patch contains most of the recorded articulations, which logically interlock and provide an elegantly aligned sound, thanks to „True Legato". Three different transition types have been captured in several sessions and simulate, among other things, realistic changes in bowing direction or passionate portamento while playing. The user simply controls the velocity - the tempo of the tone transitions automatically adapts to your DAW!

In addition to the Master Patch, the Emotional Viola also contains an Individuals Patch which is a set of key switch patches with different articulations of the same category such as sustains, shorts, trills and more. The Specials Patch offers some unusual articulations and effects and the Stackable Patch contains the main articulations with standardized key switching to match the stackable patches of Emotional Cello & Emotional Viola.

Designed for composers, songwriters and producers, this is an intimate and deeply personal set of tools, curated by BAFTA-winning composer Ólafur Arnalds, recorded at his studio in Reykjavik, Iceland. It centres around a characterful 'felted' grand piano, as well as a comprehensive set of inspiring sonic manipulations and progressive synth sounds, designed with the writer in mind.

THE OVERVIEW PANEL
This is the main interface for melodic instruments. Its default view displays all available playing techniques, has a simple microphone mixer and includes the main feature controllers.

GENERAL CONTROLS PANEL
This view allows further in-depth control of the instrument, showing all available signals and feature controllers, as well as the ability to purge techniques from memory to reduce system usage.

MERCURY SYNTH
This ingenious user interface features a range of organic sounds and specially curated warped sounds. All of the controls are assignable to your control surface, giving you the ability to instantly make our sounds your own.

Recorded in the ultra-cool surrounds of Voxton studios Berlin, Ólafur's hand-picked quartet features the talents of multi-instrumentalist, composer, and oft co-collaborator Viktor Orri Árnason alongside the searing talents of cellist Sebastian Selke. Each evolution was exhaustingly curated and produced by Ólafur Arnalds who also prescribed his strict and original approach to how Voxton's very cool selection of microphones, pre-amps and outboard should best be utilised for this project. The net result is a deeply beautiful, if not haunting selection of tools that spring out of the box with delightful and refreshing unpredictability. If you're looking for something cerebral, honest and unique then you'll need go no further.
